The episode was completely predictable, so it was really talking heads for about an hour with an obvious ending. The only way this could have been good would have been if they found her guilty.

They stuck with his assignment to the Enterprise being at least a year before the events of "The Cage(TOS)" - the Okuda Star Trek Encyclopedia and Star Trek Chronology editions conjectured 2252 - though the graduation date of 2250 places his departure from the Academy at almost the same time Kirk is entering it and means Spock was admitted at age 16.

She also wasn't in Spock's Starfleet record according to La'an in Season 1 - Momento Mori.
