Star Trek Star Fleet Technical Manual v2-0

As we go into December, I want to give an update on what’s likely going to happen.

If Random House chooses not to respond by the end of business 23 December 2016 this all goes away. They’ve had my email enquiries since early November, and without response by 23 December I’ll consider the matter closed. The group will disappear from facebook and the post on my blog will be pulled down.

Frankly, the odds are this will happen, or Random House will say, “No.” This would not surprise me.

There is no road to releasing the completed book as a free PDF to the public as the rights are protected by CBS, Random House and Karen Schnaubelt Dick. I’d be served a cease and desist at the very least. And I very much believe in respecting the rights of creative professionals being one myself.

I’d like to thank all the people who enthusiastically jumped up when I posted the material. It’s nice to have work you love doing supported.

If you wish, save the JPGs for your own PERSONAL use and they may not be distributed in any form without written permission from myself. Material is derivative of original work by Franz Joseph Schnaubelt and is © Scott Dutton, 2016.

Keeping fingers crossed for you. If you can't get the work released now, hopefully one day the business climate will change and allow it to be distributed in some form

@Scott Dutton.

A post from this thread was quoted in other active thread, and I replied to that but momentarily didn't understand the timeline or see the outcome. This post is a revision of that reply.

I just wanted to say that while I am ordinarily against this type of revisionism, this particular project was exceptionally well executed. I particularly liked the use of the color key tabs. I did not meticulously study the work, but it looked like up to the point of completion there was no information lost, only information gained. The artistic issues were very nicely handled indeed.

I'm sorry that you did not get the outcome that you desired.
