"Everything far from went as planned during the secret mission, nevertheless Gwyn and his crew managed to save Wesley and Ilthuran. Admiral Janeway then organizes a rescue mission without informing Starfleet in order to save her young recruits." - Cygnus-X1.Net

This episode actually allowed me to understand Wesley's thinking clearly and while I don't really agree with the plan, it did not detract from the season. In fact, Prodigy set up the final two episodes really well, and having the Loom also be a prisoner and wanting to escape was nice too. Looking forward to the final two episodes tonight.

I’m a bit confused how the Doctor escaped her. Deactivating the mobile emitter would just mean it’s left there. How did he get back to the group?
Yeah it was bothering me all season how he would just transfer to another area of the Voyager-A with the mobile emitter coming with him. And this one effected the plot... at least there are next to no canon violations, unlike ahem certain other NuTrek series!

Beaming the Mobile Emitter around inside Voyager is easy.

Hopefully "The Doctor" added in a Mobile "Site-to-Site" Transporter function into his Mobile Emitter for ease of escape.

Maybe his mobile emitter has tiny spoodler legs which come out and he scuttled off?

I was very much expecting a holoJaneway switcharoo instead of the EMH one they did. And it's weird seeing holoJ fawning over the Doctor...

This was an excellent episode. I especially like the use of the vehicle replicator (with llthuran's input) to copy a Vau N'akat craft, and the ruse of the Doctor and Janewey. I feel the Doctor has been used well throughout the season.

Also liked Janeway telling Wesley to contact his mother. That conversation had a point, after all.

We see the mobile emitter shimmer in and out of sight while he is disguised, and we have seen holograms used to make people invisible. Remember Data’s floating head in Insurrection?

Ah yes, the Starfleet standard issue bombadge, useful for communications and escaping from a jam.
