Finally get confirmation of just what the original crew compliment of the Protostar was... Looks like 11, with Chakotay as the now sole survivor.
This episode almost made me shed a tear for a bird character who has only been in the series for like 5 minutes. Also, Chakotay got his Mojo back, and this series is doing more for Chakotay than Voyager ever did.

That's a bit of a overly harsh statement.
Which part. Chakotay was not well developed on Voyager. As for Adreek, I wanted to see more of him.
I hate that Dal thinks of the protostar as “his ship.” I wanna smack him upside the head and tell him “look skippy, it’s not your ship. It never was your ship.”
He had his fair amount of episodes in Voyager.
He did. I actually liked the character in the early seasons (Seasons 1-3) and a few in the others. The writers unfortunately let him down in the later years of the show.
I can’t hate him for that. He and his friends had it for almost a year.
And… C x J is still one of my favorite pairings.
Wow, this series seems to be servicing Chaoktay much better than he got on VOY.
Also, poor Chakotay for being stuck by himself for such a long time on the planet.
A great moment when the crew finally finds Chakotay, only to discover that he doesn't want to leave.

After 10 years marooned alone with only a hologram of his unrequited love for company, guessing he probably had to delete a few memory files before he backed her up or let anyone else see that program
So the Xindi must have joined Starfleet by the 24th century.
Not specific to this episode, but.....
Adreek, what a hero.
I haven't watched much VOY, but this episode gave me all the feels about Chakotay. The Captain is never supposed to be the lone survivor, and you could tell he was haunted.
If nothing else, this version of Chakotay was much more interesting.
