Star Trek Online Sub Forum: yes or no?

Someone mentioned it in the long running STO main thread I think, and I agree. Naybe it us time to give STO it's own Forum here on the TrekBBS.
While the Trek Gaming forum does the job, most of the discussions get drowned very quickly in the single mega thread.
Only Occasionally a new thread pops up.
I believe the STO community is steady enough and even growing to justify it.

There are other sub forums that are not nearly as active (yes, LOST, I am looking at you).

We could diversify topics a lot better and give individual discussions and actual chance and make news more visible.

Anyone else in favor of this?

Well, I see other Trek style games intermixed here. It would be a good thing to have STO separated and there is enough active discussion to support this.

Hi, I asked in the Briefing Room and the answer back was that 75% of traffic was STO related and that then the main forum would be a ghost town. So, afraid the status quo will remain.

I'm open to suggestions regarding some sticky threads if you want a bit more of a reorganisation?

It would be good to split the discussion into at least half a dozen threads instead of just the current two monster threads. Off the top of my head, beside the three current threads (STO, TrekBBS Armada, Screenshots) the following new threads could be added.

STO Events - For discussions on events in STO, such as the upcoming Klingon Appreciation Week, First Contact Day, the release of featured episodes

STO Ships - For discussion on various ships in STO, ship builds, dps issues and such.

STO Updates - For discussing upcoming or recent changes to the game, including any rumors about what Cryptic/PWE is adding to the game

STO Help - For new players who need help or advice with regards to STO,

It may also help to relax the thread creation rules a little to allow creation of a new STO thread for major events in STO. Though this shouldn't happen more than once or twice per month.

I would retire the TrekBBS fleet thread and start 3 new ones:

The TrekBBS Armada recruitment (Fed)
The House of TrekBBS recruitment (KDF)
TrekBBS Fleetevents (both)

then I would suggest to start new:

Star Trek Online News

and

Star Trek Online FAQ

Althose could be stickied, every other topic could run it's course the normal way.

The Screenshot thread might be due for a new version soon, don't know how big it is allowed to get.
It's been steadily going since the beginning of the game and doesn't need a sticky.

Shipbuilds pop up every now and then anyway. Dedicating one large thread would not help, as there is no definite build anyway and it would get bloated and unhelpful fast.
