Star Trek: Mirror Universe

This series will be set in the Mirror Universe in the year 2155, it will focus on events after Hoshi became Empress of Earth and took control of the Constitution Class ship. This series will catalogue the rise of the Terran Empire as the dominant race in the Alpha Quadrant and the Terran victory over the Tholians. It would literally create an alternate Trek that could have further series down the line set in the future. Unlike what we usually see in Trek we have the opportunity to see what it would be like if Humans were the aggressors all the time rather than the bringer of peace.

What do you think?

Good concept. It would make an excellent 13 episode series. However, I don't think the viewers would like to see human portrayed in a negative light for a four year run, it would just get tired.

There are enough cynical shows, sci-fi and non, that show humanity in a less than favorable light running today. The thing about good Star Trek was that it showed humanity flawed, but yet trying and, in some casess, succeeding, to overcome its past mistakes and trying to be better. By the time thet the first few seasons of TNG rolled around it got rediculous.

It would work if there was a human resistance working against the fascist Hoshis Empire, align them with the Romulans, Andorians and eventually the Klingons (I know this would make it not the same AU from TOS/DS9)

So the goal is to make it just like the regular Star Trek universe. Why not just tell stories in the regular Star Trek universe. Make some kind of conflict within that Federation?

Worked for B5, didn't it?

A mirror universe series could certainly work.

As long as ALL humans were universally evil.

The "good guys" would all be aliens and genuine terror must be emphasised whenever a human appears.

Yup, and Battlestar, too.

oh yes I like it! whenever a human is mentioned or walks into the room a look of fear crosses their faces, even a Klingons face. ;)

I'd like an MU series that picks up after DS9 and shows the rebuilding of the Terran Empire.

I hated what DS9 did to the Mirror Universe, it would have been far better to have had the Terran Empire not get destroyed and have continued to expand and strike fear into the hearts of its enemys, just imagine if DS9 had been under Terran Empire control at war against the Cardassians, far better than the rubbish Terran rebels plotline.

How about a pilot episode that involves somebody traveling back in time and killing Mirror Spock before his reforms. That way the empire never fell.

I love the MU.

Unfortunately that would mean the events of DS9 never actually happened even though they did, too much of a headache i'm afraid. ;)

I'd like to see what happens when Mirror Universe Spock and Marlena Moreau try to destroy the Terran Empire. And that would be a nice way of getting Star Trek back on the small screen even if some of the regular cast are too much big movie stars to do it. All you really need is Zach Quinto and some actress to play Moreau. Maybe guest shots by Chris Pine, etc.

Quinto with a goatee. Haw! :rommie:

Nice idea for getting some of the 24th C MU characters on the show. MU Bashir vs MU Spock, sounds fun. Intendant Kira can go back as MU Spock's ally, for all the wrong reasons. Doesn't mean MU Bashir et al are going to win and obliterate the DS9 MU episodes. I guess they could obliterate Resurrection and Emporer's New Cloak if they want.
