Star Trek Discovery Leaving Netflix For Paramount+ Internationally, season 4 global launch in 2022

Are you guys able to buy the S4 episodes individually or get a season pass on Amazon Prime internationally or is that just in the US and Canada as well?

It sucks because that will probably cost about twice as much as getting a premium (no ads) Paramount+ account and about four times as much as the version with ads, but hopefully it'll be there to give people another legal option to watch the show if they don't want to wait until next year to get Paramount+ overseas.

Just checked and Discovery has been removed from Netflix. The Other series were still showing on the XBOX app but not when i accessed Netflix by web browser. I just cancelled my Netflix membership as there is nothing else on there that I watch. Netflix might actually have to come up with it's own content that is actually good now that it can no longer rely on other companies IP's.

No. "Star Trek: Discovery" left Netflix International a few hours ago. All three seasons. And Season Four coming to Paramount+ in a big launch for Europe/UK/Australasia sometime in 2022.

Amazon Prime still has "Picard" and "Lower Decks", but they are eventually going to Paramount+, too.

Wow, and here I thought they had learned from the disaster with the international distribution of Lower Decks. This is even more fucked up actually. Telling people it will premiere on Netflix, even having your actors do promo for it in the UK, and then boom, they just cancel it and even delete the show in its entirety on Netflix overnight. I wonder, could they possibly have handled this any worse?

Seems to be a LOT of confusion about the Sky thing, with fans thinking they'll need to get an expensive Sky package just to see Star Trek.

As far as I understand it:
  • Existing Sky Cinema subscribers get P+ at no extra cost.
  • Other Sky customers can pay for an add-on.
  • Anyone else can simply sign up for the P+ service as with any other steaming app.
The announcement of the deal said nothing about exclusivity. The deal is really just to put P+ onto the Sky platform, which will give it a push as it starts to get established.

But until it launches, it's a green light to hoist the skull and crossbones.

The disappearance of the Fox channel on Sky makes more sense now.
Doesn’t affect me as I have a VPN but it still sucks for people who don’t. This will just encourage piracy.

Not a chance.

I have a feeling you’re right. I have no doubt that Paramount wants all of Trek under one roof, and for that to be exclusive, and that they’ll be making the last few moves to make that happen soon.

With the way this shook out, ‪it feels like only a matter of time before we see a similar announcement about Picard and Lower Decks leaving Amazon, and that any services that have retained TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY and/or ENT will see them disappear.

It all depends on the deal they made. Prime got Picard and Lower Decks quite recently so they might have it for a few more years.

Very true, though buying out the Discovery Netflix deal shows they’re willing to pay to renegotiate/cancel their pre-existing contracts with other streamers.

I assumed it stood for Germany, Switzerland and Austria as that is the order they state the countries in at the beginning of the press release.
Yes it's D (Germany) A (Austria) CH (Switzerland) and refers to these countries and not the German areas of other European countries

I'll most likely never suscribe to Pee +, after treating the non-US viewership like shit for such a long time. This was the final coffin nail.

Paramount would be good to remember that people remember such things and a lot of them won't ever suscribe on princible after this!
