Just back from Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas, where I was surprised to discover absolutely no one was talking about the new movie, which is only 511 days away!

He's using rubber bands to help him out while practicing the salute. So he's on it already.

It takes a bit of practice, I couldn't do it at first, after a few months of practice I could do it with both hands, and lift one eyebrow at a time as well.

I practiced as a little boy in front of the mirror... the hand thing came naturally but the eyebrow took some time...

Of course I also used to tape a tinfoil delta shield onto my gold pajama top and comb my hair like Captain Kirk...

Yeah, 2008 is a leap year.

Checked my figures and the engine I used to calculate the number of days left does indeed take into account the leap day. 507 confirmed.

Just think... somewhere out there is a guy who doesn't yet realize he's the new Captain Kirk.

Personally, I also felt that I would be more apt to handle Spock, but since the position's been filled, I don't have a problem stepping up to play Kirk.
