This is about Scotty and the Ent-A, but I'm posting here in the Picard forum, because the Picard show makes this possible.
The Enterprise-A's final mission is portrayed in ST6-TUC. Scotty believes he witnessed Kirk's death later that year on the Ent-B in Generations. Sometime later, Scotty's off to a retirement colony, but the Jenolen goes down. Scotty and a friend survive in the transporter. Decades later, Scotty's rescued by the Ent-D, but his friend perished. By the end of "Relics," Scotty's given a shuttle to push off retirement and have some fun.
Imagine Scotty learns the Ent-A is still preserved after so many decades! Can you imagine Scotty flying his Ent-D shuttle out to the Ent-A, being allowed to park it in the Ent-A shuttlebay, and go exploring? Now that PIC S3 established that the Ent-A is still around by 2401, this is my head canon for what Scotty did after he flew off in his Ent-D shuttle.
