Possible small spoilers ahead?

Star Trek: Picard is far from done with Seven of Nine. Ryan will return for the show's highly anticipated second season - which should begin filming soon - this time with a new potential love interest in Raffi Musiker, a further evolution of the character. It's unclear what threat Picard and friends will be facing in season two, but it stands to reason Seven of Nine will be around, and Jeri Ryan will continue to have fun with the new complex role.

Article has more.

IMHO, it would be harder to act out convincingly someone like Seven without the emotions or to feign to straining them in the way some of us just are in real life - she's definitely a great actor and one of a few that can really sell any number of character archetypes. Ever see "Boston Public"? (No relation to "Boston Legal"... :D)

The Seven/Raffi thing isn't really a spoiler. And it's a given she'll have more to do in general and will be on La Sirena.

I'm glad Jeri Ryan's having a better time on Picard. The more I hear about what happened on Voyager, the more I'm horrified about what she had to put up with and go through before.

I understand why some people are looking askance at this; she spent four seasons on Voyager vs. a comparatively short time on Picard, and people want to believe that the actors involved in a show they love find as much meaning in making it as fans do watching it. But given everything she had to endure during Voyager's production, it's not surprising at all that she favors her time on Picard.

I like how you really broke this down because the headline made me do a double take I must admit. I didn't grasp it at first, being that as a fan I enjoyed the character of Seven of Nine on Voyager more than the depiction on Picard, but it's a good reminder to separate the actor from the role they play or the different productions they are on.

Personally, I enjoyed her equally in both series.... Bring on season 2!:techman::borg:
Seven was easily the best thing about PIC.
I wasn't a fan of the Icheb outcome, but it puts Seven in the right mindset for this series. I vote Seven for a "tempered" Borg Queen with Raffi by her side. Hoping we get some follow up with this plot thread. :techman:

This is a really low bar.

I remember a quote from way back...

"Being forced to go to work on the set every day made me physically ill."

I'll admit that 17 year old Campe loved Seven in a catsuit when she first appeared. By the time the show ended, 21 year old Campe realized how pandering it was. Amazing what a few years of college and the experiences therein does.

Umm....yes..... I also realized it was pandering at 21.....Yup, I was definitely 21 when I realized it was pandering....
