Would not surprise me if Peter’s secret is disproven by having one of the Skrulls showing Peter and Spidey together at the same time. Obviously the rest of that Daily Bugle story is false, Spider-man is not the villian and did not kill Mysterio. So Peter will need to expose the lie there and the public will be dubious of believing the claim Peter is Spider-man is true as well.
That's a pretty good theory and I also wouldn't be surprised if that's what they go with. Alternatively, I could see Peter being somehow isolated.in the situation and has to work out a different way of convincing the world that he's not Spider-Man like getting someone else to wear the costume for him. I'm pretty sure that's something that happened in the comics at least once way back in the day (and I think it was Flash who helped him).

This is a bigger deal than May learning the secret on a cliffhanger. They could skip over her acceptance of it.
I forgot to bring this up in my own review but my one disappointment with this film was that we never go to see how May adjusted to learning the truth about his alter ego. I understand why they skipped over, both because of how the timeline played out and for the needs of this film's story, but it's still a little disappointing.

Maybe we'll get some kind of short that covers it, like the Peter's To-Do List short that we're getting.

Pat Hingle played Commissioner Gordon in all four movies of that same quadrilogy, which would lend credence to them all being in the same continuity. YMMV.
Oh, right, I always forget about Pat Hingle's Gordon. Probably because his role was so forgettable. :p

However, the James Bond franchise retained Judi Dench as M when they rebooted the franchise with Daniel Craig and Casino Royale.
Ah, good point. That's another good example. So it's not quite as unprecedented as I initially thought, but it's still pretty damn cool.

Aren't they supposed to be the same dude? Chase references Returns' Catwoman in the third film, and the third and fourth films share an unchanged Robin. And of course Alfred and Gordon.
Yeah, supposedly, but the stylization of everything is so radical that I find it hard to believe. But it's not a big deal. I only care for Batman Returns.

I said like the 616 version. Not THE 616 version.
It’s plot hole as Fury says that the world is lacking heroes after the events of Endgame and that he has to rely on Peter when there’ are many other superpowered People out there who may be willing to be trained to become heroes for his group. Whatever that group is now.
Not to mention they might be actual adults as well. :)

The reason Fury said that was because he wasn't really Fury.

Someone might of years ago created a thread on actors reprising roles in different continuities https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/same-actor-character-in-different-continuities.115502/ ;)

J.K. Simmons returning is exactly the type of thing I was hoping for. It’s still a big deal. It does not happen in films often. Interesting that thread was years before the current Flash tv series. Which has brought in many of the cast from the 1990 series as alternate versions of their characters.

Well...I stand corrected!

At least I didn't compound that mistake by being someone who posted in that ancient thread.

. Another bitter former Tony Stark employee (or rather, a whole group of them now) using his tech for ridiculously over-the-top purposes.
Can we say small Universe syndrome? I feel like I'm a spoilt child saying this because we have a successful and rich cinematic universe that works and yet I sometimes want Spiderman to be a little more independent from it in his solo film. Seeing him team up with avengers is so so sweet though. The tone of these movies is just a little too fun.
I love the Sam Rami movies in this regard.

Makes me wonder how they'll squeeze in the X-Men. Are they going to go dark enough where we see crowds of people throwing glass bottles shouting "go home mutant!"?

However, the James Bond franchise retained Judi Dench as M when they rebooted the franchise with Daniel Craig and Casino Royale.
The original plan for Skyfall was not for Bond to return to his home but for Skyfall to be a retirement home for 007 agents named James Bond. Apparently they didn't do it because Sean Connery wouldn't come back for it. So M could have been the same character,

Absolutely loved this. I enjoyed Homecoming (and rewatched it over the weekend with my family, as my oldest daughter wanted to see FFH in the cinema, enjoying it even more) but it didn’t quite surpass Spider-man 2 as the best Spidey movie for me (I haven’t seen Into the Spider-Verse yet). However, I think this one may have done just that, with Holland and the whole cast really settling into their roles, Peter’s place in the MCU becoming more important and that all-important mix of comedy and action blending perfectly.

Hadn’t been at all spoiled for the first post-credits scene so I was delighted by it (even if Id been hoping JB Smoove was a race-swapped JJJ, this was way better).

Let’s hope that the next one avoids the curse of the Spidey threequel (Tobey’s dropped the ball, Andrew didn’t get one) and is as good as this.

Just saw it.
You haven’t really experienced this movie unless you watch it in a movie theater in the Netherlands!
The reactions in the crowd when Spidey woke up after being hit by the train were hilarious.

I had fun with a friend taking apart little science mistakes like the drones getting to Earth from space and back up with ease ignoring actual problems of orbital mechanics.

They made up for it with MJ freaking out during the shared web slinging scene.

Edit: oh, and there is no way you wind up in the Netherlands by sleeping in an ICE train from Berlin.:guffaw:

I usually nitpick science, particularly physics, when I'm watching films, too, but I usually let things slide in superhero films where people gain powers from radioactive spiders, gamma radiation, cosmic rays, super serums, etc. ;)

I imagine the Dutch loved the Netherlands cameo...until Happy recklessly destroyed their beloved tulips! My heart went out to them during that scene.

I'm going to be nervous until we hear that Marvel and Sony have extended their Spidey contract. Far From Home was the last movie under their original agreement, and Sony deciding to make their own sequel without Marvel is exactly the kind of thing that could potentially lead to a crummy part 3.

^ I'm not sure where you got the idea that Far From Home is the end of Sony's original "license lease" with Marvel Studios, because unless something has changed, it is my understanding that Feige still owes Sony the completion of a solo Trilogy for Spidey.

After that, though, one or both parties can choose to part ways, in which case Sony would be free to do whatever they want with the Spidey license.

Smaller stories like this one that often get skipped over or pushed aside to make room for the bigger stuff are exactly why I'd like for Marvel Studios to bring back the One-Shots. Just give us something short and sweet, 15 minutes or less, to fill in those little cracks.

Yup, same here. I really miss the One-Shots and I'm still surprised they stopped doing them. Hell, considering all of the new stuff they're doing with Disney+, I'm surprised they haven't brought them back sooner.

Like I said, I understand why they skipped over the moment, but it's still a important part of Peter's life and we should get to see it, in whatever form possible.

I got the idea from all the reporting that stated that the Marvel/Sony Spider-partnership was for Civil War, two Avengers films, Homecoming, "and the sequel".

If it's not true, I stand corrected.

All of the reports that I remember seeing stated that Sony contracted with Feige for a solo Spidey Trilogy and agreed to lease Spidey to Marvel Studios for 3 films, which is why Tom Holland has a 6-movie contract.

Actually, we will be getting the equivalent of a One-Shot on the Far From Home Blu-ray in the form of "Peter's to do list".

As far as skipping important moments in Peter's life goes? Radioactive spider? Uncle Ben? With great power comes great responsibility?

Yes, but we've already seen all of that ad nauseam. What we haven't seen is May dealing with and eventually accepting that Peter is Spider-Man. And based on her expletive, it may not have been a quick and easy path.
