(Sadly, the real Atari has been dead since 1984 except for its coin-op group, which was sold off and survived under various names until ~2004. The current "owners" mostly just license out some game properties and the Atari name itself to get stuck on products.)

Yep - I know. It was the French Infogames that BOUGHT the Atari name and switched to using it as they felt 'Atari' had better brand recognition in the digital gaming sphere.
