Silverfin - "S.O.S."

This was a fantastic story! Tightly written, expertly paced, you've got a terrific mix of action and angst punctuated by wonderful character moments that bring your crew to life. :techman:

Leijten's tactics were the stuff of desperate brilliance, and I appreciated how the thought of abandoning the hospital ship never crossed her mind. At worst, she had vowed to ram the cruiser in order to save the crew and patients aboard the other vessel.

This was a great view of how the Border Service saw active fighting during the war.

Cheers Gibraltar.

When I came up with the idea, the thought of abandoning the Britannic was never a possibility, and sacrificing 120 lives for 2000 would be a move that any CO would take (in my mind at least, the Vulcans are right about the needs of the many).

There's a lot of spirit and determination in these Border Dogs.

You can't swing a dead tribble these days without coming across a story about the Border Service. Little surprise, these guys are just damn interesting. And quite ingenious.

I too enjoyed the continuous adventures of the Silverfin and her crew during the tumultuous war years. And while I'm not the biggest fan of battle scenes, I thought this was was actually really well done.

Appreciated CeJay.

The next couple of stories I have in mind would be so Voyager-ish in their approach to dealing with situations. There will be action, just not hopeless odds, consoles exploding left, right and centre, hull verging on collapse and weapons all but gone, kind of action.

This drew me in quick and kept me reading! It's hard to have an action sequence and character development in one short story (at least for me it is). You make it look easy. I am also eagerly moving on to your next installment.

Thank you Dnoth. I'm glad you liked it.

Lost and Found is the next chronological piece, though it was the first one I wrote, so I was still getting used to the characters, the ship and how things were done in the Border Service.
