Shatner gives his opinion on Trek Continues

since the show is about to end, and they haven't done any fundraising in quite some time, I think Bill could lighten up.

Seen as they are finishing up their production and the fact Continues stopped doing this long ago, Shatter should lighten up.

Actually, it doesn't matter whether STC is nearing the end or not in the world of IP and use of likeness.

I perform as Buddy Holly in tribute shows, and had to get express permission to use Holly's name and/or likeness for shows, promotion, etc. There were no exceptions. It's use of the likeness whenever you use it.

I was pointing out his overreaction after this much time has passed.

I can guarantee 100% that William Shatner has paid little to no attention to fan films to have any sort of idea that Continues is coming to an end. As far as he's concerned, they've done it, they've apparently done it more than once, and for all he knows are still doing it: hence the snippiness.

Just because you took a picture with a celebrity doesn't mean you 'know' them or have any real relationship with them.

This far out Shatner may have confused STC with Axanar. I'm giving everyone he benefit of the doubt. Except, of course, LLAP (Lifelong Loser Alec Peters). That guy has soured the milk for every fan production, past, present, and future.

I'm pretty sure Vic and Bill have been at multiple conventions together, with Vic even introducing him at a few of them. He's not just some fan who met him once.

Again, then Vic should be acutely aware of how much 'image' is everything to a actor's career and using said image multiple times without permission shows a lack of respect.

I can understand both sides. I can understand Continues when they use pictures from the show but you just can't stop Shatner being unhappy about it.

Though I never thought that Shatner is the greatest person, it must be sad for the Continues Crew.

That's unfortunate. I've heard Vic Mignogna speak effusively a couple times about having had the chance to get to know Shatner; it's a shame if Continues ended up adversely affecting Shatner's perception of Vic.

I'd suspect any "rough patch" between the two because of this has been worked out behind the scenes and everything is fine.
