I hope it's ok to have a character thread for her.

Seven of Nine aka Annika Hansen, full Borg designation: Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero One. Assimilated by the Borg as a child and forcefully liberated by Captain Janeway, she wore skintight bodysuits and high heels because reasons. (Tom Paris: "She could assimilate me any time!") Struggling to regain her humanity. Still retains some Borg parts (implants). Was friends with Janeway, The Doctor, Tuvok, Naomi Wildman and sort-of adoptive mother to xB Icheb.

Decades later, she is a badass vigilante with the Fenris Rangers, drinks bourbon and swears, loves women. Secretly likes Picard and saving the galaxy. Wants to stop killing bad people. Hopefully, maybe now a member of the La Sirena crew and a regular on the show?

Some favorite quotes:

"Fun will now commence."

Seven: After they brought you back from your time in the Collective … did you honestly feel that you regained your humanity?
Picard: Yes.
Seven: All of it?
Picard: No. But we’re both working on it, aren’t we?
Seven: Every damn day of my life.

Oh, something that bothered me about the Seven/ Narissa fight... well, actually two things:
1. I doubt it would be so easy to distract Seven and snatch her weapon
2. Whatever became of her superior Borg strength and reflexes? Unless Romulans possess superhuman strength, this shouldn't have been much of a fight at all.

Whoever came up with the idea to bring Seven Of Nine back couldn't possibly have realised she'd become maybe the best thing about the whole season. She's a total badass!

I have one question. Does she still need to regenerate her Borg implants? She used to have to step into her alcove every day if I'm remembering correctly.

Didn't the Doctor carry out a procedure on her to reduce her dependency on regeneration? I recall it being suggested some time in Season 7, possibly in Endgame, but can't recall exactly.

Seven is older. Her reflexes probably aren't what they used to be.

Not that it mattered much. In the end, it was Nerissa who ended up doing the Palpatine Dive over the balcony.

Seven got it done. :techman:

As of "Broken Pieces", Seven of Nine has eclipsed Kira Nerys as my favorite, most badass female character in the franchise.

Borg are stronger than Vulcanoids, and Vulcanoids are three times stronger than humans (per "Take Me out to the Holosute" (DS9) and "Fusion" (ENT)).

"loves women"
Many of them? Should we wait for her Barbarella-style adventures with women?
I am shocked, y'all. They promised a return of familiar characters. Her last scene in VOY was a dating with Chakotay wasn't it?

Well, it's true that characters - like real people - can change beliefs or learn new things. Personality mannerisms may or may not change, as quickly or as extreme.

I can buy into sexuality differences and come up with my own fancanon, like anyone if they cared to. But having been the survivor of traumatic abuse, I find it far more difficult to believe her personality would change THAT much.

At least Riker seemed the same, "I got the biggest baddest ship to kick your ass with!" feels like something country-bebop Riker might have said to the Borg; but Frakes could turn any form of manure into fuel with his acting chops and this still fits Riker's style so I can't complain too much, darn it... Even then, Riker/Frakes doesn't need pottymouth to make authoritarian speech work. That and PIC was wallowing in it so much it's amazing, given the quantity, Riker still called it.

It just occurred to me that for all we know, Seven is just hitching a ride back to Fenris on La Sirena, not necessarily a cew member...

It'd be truer to Seven's characterization to just phase Narissa. Shaking her down is inefficient and a waste of time.

Worse, Narissa doesn't even distract Seven. She just knocks the weapon out of Seven's hand, despite Seven looking right at her with it aimed at her and a finger on the firing stud. I guess the confrontation was supposed to be a badass moment for Seven, but it just makes her look inept. Like, congratulations on barely winning a fist fight that a shred of competence would have averted.

All so we can get Seven into a grudge match with Narissa, who she's never interacted with on-screen before, to avenge Hugh, who... she's also never interacted with on-screen before. I don't know why the writer didn't have Narissa die when the xBs got her, that would have had dramatic irony to it. Instead she transports away in order to disappear for an episode, press some buttons on a console, and fall into a hole.
