Set blueprint exchange

Looking at the blueprints for the matter/antimatter reactor, there is a side view of the Enterprise, with the sensor strip listed as the main sensor...

To me this makes a great deal of sense.

Why? Because Looking at space through tunnel vision is more than a little problem...
The greeble panels in the 90s era designs have always been the sensors, that's the "lateral sensor array" on teh saucer of hte D and the greebles on voyagers nose and saucer are the same.

Only in some games and fanon do they conflate the main deflector dish with the sensor array or communications or other things. The Deflector dish clears crap from the ship's flight path and is occasionally used to channel energy. not for scanning.

Here is where I am coming from: the British Interplanetary Society Daedalus probe, is to have one megapixel image sensors, the primary with a one radian field of view upper limit down to 1/1000 of a radian(1000×1000 pixels), with the secondary looking through a one times telescope.

In the early 1970s, when the BIS, was planning the Daedalus, they were figuring that reliability was the chief concern, so low resolution durable image sensors versus high resolution low durability image sensors...

I use this as a baseline for all preliminary thoughts.

I really hope @Redgeneral is doing okay. I don't think he's been on the board since December when he mentioned health issues and expected to be back by maybe February. Does anyone know?

And while he's dealing with more important stuff, perhaps we should make a point of saving these references for him. It's getting to the point that some of these images might stop being active and savable if no one has downloaded them by now. Has anyone been doing this already?

Might be the clearest measurements of the forward stations out there.
^keep in mind it's of the stations seen in ST The Experience. They are not 100% screen accurate to what was seen on the show, there are some differences.

I have not been, as most of the time I am checking for these sites while I am on my corporate laptop and needing a break from corporate stuff.

I was thinking it might be a good idea to backup the Archive, but the current site does not have the option for downloading entire albums.

@Redgeneral did post some new images to the archive about a month ago, when he uploaded some set plans from ST: The Experience, ST: The Tour, and what looks like a few high resolution scans from the Voyager prints he now has in his collection.

He's a bit more active on Mastodon, where he posted this last week:

How are the webcrawlers these days? There used to be apps out there that could scour all the assets of a site down to a specified level, but many sites have gotten so complex that a lot of those apps ceased to be useful.

I dunno... Maybe worth looking into. Perhaps the Internet Archive already has everything there?

He's a bit more active on Mastodon, where he posted this last week:
Wow, he has a lot of good stuff there.

@137th Gebirg I haven't tried any webcrawlers, but worth a shot. I'm also sure Redgeneral would be willing to share an archive of the archive if asked.

He's a bit more active on Mastodon, where he posted this last week:
That's good to know!

I've spoken to redgeneral on this in the past already, th albums are built quite easily and are in fact static, so a simple http image downloader/scraper will do the trick, there's no fancy JS back end or anything beyond the gallery viewing, as an FYI.

Most of what is on the archive is also in the onedrive i host for scifi-meshes, so if the site vanished tomorrow most of hte stuff is still hosted, others on scifi meshes have preserved parts of it too.

After taking a long break for health reasons, I've resumed uploading to the archive. I will work my way back through the thread to catch up on what I've missed.

This is the first batch of the backlog - further updates should hopefully be coming soon

Covers aliens, Starfleet uniforms, space suits and more

This is only the first batch of costumes, more images are being sorted and will be uploaded in future.

Blueprints

Voyager Bridge Blueprints
Folder: http://archive.frogland.co.uk/Set Blueprints/Voyager/Bridge/index.html
Images: Sheets 1-5, 16, 24, 25, 29

Due to the large size of the sheets these scans, the only business with a machine large enough to scan is a city away - its quite a trip. So these scans will be done when its possible to me arrange the journey - I can't guarantee when.
So far we have Sheets 1-5, 8-16, 19-25, 29

Mirror Darkly bridge blueprint
Folder: http://archive.frogland.co.uk/Set Blueprints/Mirror Darkly/index.html
Images: 7-11
These were provided by Michael Sussman
Wall profile is identical to the Tribble blueprint. It seems the Hyde park bridge was used only for controls and possibly the viewscreen.
Also Sussman provided me with a photo showing the Tribble blueprint on set of the Mirror Darkly construction. Notably it had been stamped with an "Enterprise" production detail box instead of the DS9 one.

DS9 Trials and Tribble-ations bridge
Folder: http://archive.frogland.co.uk/Set Blueprints/Trials and Tribble-ations/index.html
Images: TandT bridge opposite 1-4
For Sisko's bridge appearance, the console units were rearranged to be the opposite side of the bridge and an extra panel added.

DS9 - Defiant
Main Folder: http://frogland.co.uk/set-archive/Set Blueprints/Defiant/index.html
Additions:
Corridors: Sheet 14 (12 images), Sheet 19 (10 images), Sheet 20 (18 images), Sheet 22 (9 images)
Bridge: Sheet 2 (16 images), Sheet 3 (14 images), Sheet 13 (11 images)
Turbolift: Sheet 24 (7 images)
Quarters: Sheet 21 (10 images)
These are all photos of the blueprints - they are not the clearest to read and are quite warped. I am currently working on annotations to clear them up.

Phase II blueprints
Main Folder: http://archive.frogland.co.uk/Set Blueprints/Phase II/index.html

New Sub-Folder: Phase II Engineering

Also to improve the existing Phase II blueprints, I've made new scans from the book with higher resolution and then enhanced for clarity

Ship Blueprints

Klingon KTinga
New Folder: http://frogland.co.uk/set-archive/Ship Blueprints/KTinga/index.html
TMP KTinga body blueprints (prior to the additional surface detail).
It has an interesting lineage - the TOS model (borrowed from Smithsonian) was the basis for the Phase II model, which was scaled up for the TMP model. Also a Phase II casting was used as the basis of the DS9 Trials and Tribble-ations D7.
So in theory these plans could be used as the starting point for TOS, Phase II, TMP, STVI, and Tribbles models.

A ton of cool stuff in this new batch! I wonder if Mike Sussman has any of the blueprints for the other Defiant sets (corridor, quarters, conference room) from A Mirror Darkly? Or any of the Enterprise-D sets they rebuilt for These Are the Voyages?
