Season SIX OFFICIAL TNG Blu-Ray Discussion Thread

Kind of makes me wish I had waited. On the other hand, I'm glad I supported the project by buying every season on release day. I want to see the rest of Trek remastered dammit!

I bought the first four on release day. I simply am not that enthused about seasons five, six and seven. So I'll probably wait on each of those until I find good deals on them.

*I ordered season five yesterday.

What episode does everyone plan on watching first? I'm tempted to go with Relics, but I think I'll go with Lessons instead. Definitely one of my favorite Picard episodes in the series.

I've been going in order so Times Arrow. The episode I'm very much looking forward to is Birthright I. Also planning on getting th COC disc so I do watch the special features first.

That's a real tough one, so many good ones in S6. I tend to jump around when I get a season set.

I rip all my Star Trek uncompressed to hard drive for playback on my media player.

When my box sets arrive, it takes me a couple of days to get it done - but it's well worth it, as I can then watch my beloved Star Trek literally at the touch of a button! No faffing around with loading discs etc.

I organise by SERIES>SEASON, so I just select TNG-S6, click on whatever episode and enjoy! I use MKV as a container, which allows instant playback. Usually for the first watch through, I begin with episode 1 and let them roll until I get tired - maybe 2-3 episodes at a time.

Haven't seen any remastered TNG yet, but all this talk got me to netflix SHIP IN A BOTTLE and TAPESTRY last night, and I couldn't believe how much fun they both were. I really don't think highly of TNG in general, esp compared with DS9 and of course TOS, but they did some good stuff at times, and it tempts me to see these things in their idealized form.

I normally try to stick with the disc episode order, but there are exceptions. I think I'll be watching The Chase and Relics first!!

.
Those two and Birthright Part one.

I'll watch the Chain of Command disc first to watch and listen to all the extras. Then I'll refresh myself with Time's Arrow Part I, and then do season 6 in order, skipping CoC. I'll listen to the selected audio commentaries as I go, and finish it off with the documentaries.

Only two months to go! Then it's just about over with one (inferior) season to go. :sigh: I need some DS9 news because anticipation is fun.

I'm going to watch Time's Arrow (part 1) first. I skipped it during my run though S5, delaying it until I could watch both parts together. I'm just watching the series in-order, which is the first time that I am doing so.

We must be doing a mind meld....

So what should I wear today?

Slightly dissapointed with the lack of commentary for Starship Mine. And we're fast running out of time to get interviews with the major recurring players. Whoopi, I'm looking at you. :)

I must have missed the discussion about it: what was the "the oft-discussed" scene from "Relics?" Presumably a deleted scene?

Read the bottom of the article ... for both of your points ;)

Fewer commentaries, that's a shame because those are all really enjoyable and informative (except Cause and Effect, yuck). It would be nice if the Okudas + others could record some podcast commentaries.

Fingers crossed for no more upscaled footage. The season 5 stuff was thankfully decent, but it takes me out of the show whenever it cuts to SD footage.

Thinking ahead to season 7, TrekCore, do you know if they plan on including the Journey's End documentary? It would make a nice inclusion for an AGT solo release.
