Scrubs: Bob Kelso: evil or rightful king of the place?

Now that Kelso's character (not the first from the show) is retired, what did you think of him? Was he all about the economics (like they mostly tried to play him) or was he about the wider "people need help, let's do what we can do!" mindset?

Or was he somewhere in between? The show has always been about "in-betweens", maybe this is one of them?

I love this show, BTW...a personal favorite.

Even though Kelso was pragmatic about his economic/financial choices - and percieved as a bit of a swine because of it - there were times he allowed Dr Cox to play the "Fudge it all up with beurocracy so that a solution can be reached" game. I do think that he's a big-picture guy - but he's coming at it from a different angle to the other doctors.

Dr.Kelso was the guy that had to make hard choices for the greater good.... like the episode where he removes Dr.Cox's dying patient from a drug trail to let a richer one take his place....because the Rich guy donated a lot of money that helped keep a pre-natal unit open for poor Women...in the end Cox's guy died but many poor Women were given a greater chance to have safe and healthy deliveries....they made it clear it did get to him but he developed a hard shell to take it.

Well, it's hard to tell. Especially when he has had lines such as "You know how long it took to get that score? People died!"

Oh yeah, Kelso's the one who basically had to make the bad choices. I think they even did an episode where Cox was slammed for not wanting a promotion because he didn't want to be put in the same position as Kelso.
I'm honestly surprised they got rid of him this year... I wonder if that was before the pickup at ABC and they'll somehow bring him back like that nurse or if they were just trying to cut back costs and he was the most expendable.
If that was the case... get rid of Janitor guy. :p

I sincerely doubt we've seen the last of Kelso. Mark my words: he'll be back.

That said, I think he's just doing his job. Look at what he said to Ted in the last episode. He's not evil. He has to maintain that image though of a tyrant in order to get the hard things done.

Actually Kelso was from the future where he was a pretty evil Captain of a huge space ship. During a battle against a renegade force from a break away spacestation he somehow warped back in time and did the best he could do out of it.

Stay away from writing fan fic. :vulcan:

The actor who plays Kelso was the Captain in charge of the Loyalist fleet when Sheridan liberated Proxima III in "No Surrender, No Retreat."

Boy, was that a shocker the first time I saw the episode after I'd started watching "Scrubs."

He was also the scientist from TNG's "Evolution" who let all those nanites get out of control.

Kelso is an in-between guy.

He's a major asshole.. no denying that and he doesn't even hide it. However when it really counts, when lives are at stake he'll come forward and do the right thing (usually trying to hide it to keep up his asshole image).

I love his character.. especially the feud with Cox.

Oh yeah, I remember that. For some reason, the time travel thing threw me off and I was thinking, "Wasn't it Sinclair that travelled through time?"

He's always been one of my favourite characters on the show, especially the (first season?) episode "My Tuscaloosa Heart." While I don't think Kelso will be back to Sacred Heart, I'm sure we'll see him on the show again - he's far too much a part of it for that not to happen.

"What has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap? Bob Kelso!"

I'm actually pretty good at writing fanfic but I doubt I'd do a B5/Scrubs story
