Harvey Korman, the tall, versatile comedian who won four Emmys for his outrageously funny contributions to "The Carol Burnett Show" and was seen to hilarious effect on the big screen in "Blazing Saddles," died today. He was 81.

Korman died at UCLA Medical Center after suffering complications from the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago, his family said in a statement released by the hospital.

A natural second banana, Korman gained attention on "The Danny Kaye Show," appearing in skits with the star. He joined the show in its second season in 1964 and continued until it was canceled in 1967. That same year he became a cast member in the first season of "The Carol Burnett Show."

That's sad to hear..His bits with Tim Conway were some of the funniest things on TV and his role on Blazing Saddles was classic.

RIP, Mr. Korman. You will be missed. :(

Although I never really saw Carol Burnett (save for some clip shows), I was a fan of his work with Mel Brooks in High Anxiety, History of the World, and Blazing Saddles. His work with Brooks was great and he was a very funny man.

Oh that is so sad, what a talented comedian and very nice man. RIP Mr. Korman, you will be missed. :(

Korman and Burnette were perfect together. He was also fantastic in High Anxiety.

Thank you for the wonderful memories and the terrific laughs, Mr Korman :techman:

Damn. It seems like somebody from my childhood dies every two nanoseconds anymore.

Wasn't he on the Star Wars Holiday Speical?

Aww man I still remember him as the captain in the terrible "Herbie Goes banana's"

"NO NOT A SHEEP A SHIP! that's baba this is TOOT TOOT!

Godspeed, Mr. Korman.
You will be missed. :(

Very, very funny man.

J.

It's funny because I suppose laughing in the middle of a skit should be considered unprofessional or at least undesirable and yet those were always the moments I loved the most on the old Carol Burnett show. I loved Harvey and Tim together.

It's HEDLEY!!!

^ Tim trying to bust up Harvey was always some of the funniest stuff from those shows. I still laugh when I see clips.

RIP, Harvey.
