RIP Bob Barker

Rest in peace Bob.

I told my Mom about Bob's passing and she said that, as a toddler in the early 70s, I would sit on her lap and watch The Price is Right. R.I.P Bob.

While there is no denying he lived a long and full life, somehow the fact that he was within reaching distance of making it to 100 makes his passing now seem a bit, I dunno, unfair?

Yeah, I know, a silly thing to think. After all, making it to 99 is itself quite the accomplishment that not everyone gets. But it's one of those things I think about when hearing about someone's death when they were in their late 90s.

A huge part of my childhood, I used to watch The Price is Right with my grandfather. I can remember when they first added the big wheel which was naturally a big moment! I loved watching game shows with my grandpa, makes me wistful. He was always so impressed when I'd beat him at the puzzles in Wheel of Fortune. It was years later and after his passing that I realized that he may have been giving me an advantage. ;)

I've watched a lot of Price is Right over the years, and he was always great. It feels like just yesterday that he retired, when it was actually 16 years ago!

RIP Bob Barker

Here is an episode of The Price is Right from 1997 that I found particularly entertaining.

Nobody hosted a game show quite like Bob Barker.

I always assumed Bob just went grey over time.

Let's give Bob a proper serenade, as our thanks for his many years of T.P.I.R. awesomeness.
