They're in space. Nothing is 'normal'
I meant the specialist being onboard and being a main character, rather than them dropping it off at a Starbase later, especially incase of shipbourne contamination.
They're in space. Nothing is 'normal'
I'm sure gay people would like nothing more than to be treated as no more special or different than heterosexuals, and not to be singled out for discriminatory laws, business practices, and widespread bigotry based on their sexual orientation. But until that day where everyone is treated equally occurs, they are entitled to seek recognition wherever they can get it.Really? Why should it be an honor? Being honorable is how you conduct yourself not your orientation. I get irritated with how needy and look at me being gay has become. Like a token pat on the back for the production to have a gay character. It is no more special than being heterosexual, so I hope this character has more to offer than this 'honor'.
The almost hysteria you get from expressing an opinion not filtered through other people's agenda could do with a little progress too.
Intolerance at its hypocritical worst. And whining.
I can hear that whining again and it's so righteous too.
But thanks for letting me have your permission to have an opinion that isn't yours or expressed in your sentences.
I read the interview and I thought the actor was lame. Almost embarrassing. I hope he can act. I'm part of an audience to be entertained, that is my investment in this.
I can hear that whining again and it's so righteous too.
I'm not offended but I don't think it is an honor either.
You better complain to whoever provided the link to the interview. I didn't realize were weren't supposed to comment on it. Strange.
I will never understand why some people get so offended at the idea of various minority groups being happy to see people like them in entertainment. Maybe once it's more routine to see LGBT characters and lesbians aren't being killed off as fast as they're introduced, we'll stop making a fuss about it.
Because he didn't go through an audition process or screentesting with the other actors. They just found the first gay guy off the streets and stuffed him into an uniform just for a cause. That makes perfect sense.Let's hope he can act. Being what he already is is not much of a stretch. Let's hope he can entertain and be part of a story and not a cause.
He has a long resume in film, stage and TV and a few award nominations and wins. So, I'm thinking he can act. Since he isn't playing Anthony Rapp, it's doubtful he'll be playing what he is.Let's hope he can act. Being what he already is is not much of a stretch. Let's hope he can entertain and be part of a story and not a cause.
