Damn. RIP Gomer. 
I've always enjoyed his singing. It's such a difference from his speaking voice, it's amazing it comes from the same person. And props to him for coming out when he did. Celebrities being honest about who they are is one of the great underappreciated true powers they have in our society. He was inspiring in that, and many other ways.
That said, this actually makes two from the Lost Saucer. Alice Playten died of pancreatic cancer in 2011.

His Muppet Show appearance was one of the best episodes, especially the bakery scene! (“Put up your hands!” Ralph pulls up two hens, thinking with Nabors accent that he had said hens.)
