(Kvæde, is Danish for Quince)

Fruity, sweet'ish with a note of sour; deliciously fresh and round in taste.

Wash 5-6 ripe fruits and remove the seeds.
Put in a jar with a bottle of good vodka, close the jar.
Forget about it for 6-12 months...
Filter -and, if you have a sweet tooth, you can add a spoonfull of honey or sugar per fruit originally used.

Enjoy!

I think I've asked this before: am I the only T-BBS'er that makes their own infusions?

I make TEA infusions. Formerly, I bought the flavored tea bags. Now, I make my own.

When I was in college, a friend gave me the recipe for "Russian Tea". It was sugar, cinnamon and orange zest added to instant tea, mixed and stored dry. It was good at the time... I'm diabetic now so I make "no sugar added" teas now.

I mostly buy pre-made infusions for tea myself. The only one I tended to home make was mint, but it's not so convenient buying so much fresh mint all the time.

I've only made one, a Strawberry & Jalapeño infused Tequila. We actually had this at a hotel, the JW Marriott in San Antonio. They made this infusion in house and the bartender gave us the recipe. It is awesome, highly recommend it.

My brother and I make our own cider, freeze distill this and you'll get apple jack which is great, also we've obtained a water distiller, of course its only suitable for water... :shifty: but after distilling some cider we're pretty sure we'll be able to make some nice Calvados.

Ah! Strawberry with a bite... Sounds like a good mix of tastes and sensations, I'll have to look into this come next strawberry season :bolian:

I made a red chili pepper infused vodka. I overdid it somewhat with the peppers and ended up using the vodka to cook with.
