Quick non-spoiler question about VOY:Atonement

Hello all. I started reading Voyager's Atonement when it came out, but quickly realized I was getting confused trying to remember all the characters and situations. I decided I wanted to set this book aside and re-read the Beyer Voyager saga before trying this new novel.

Can anyone tell me - without spoilers - if this book will significantly carry over into the new novel A Pocketful of Lies, or shouldI just wait for that novel to allow for the current narratives to at least get to a fairly good conclusion or resting point?

Thanks.

I haven't read Atonement yet, but when Protectors came out Kirsten said that it, Acts of Contrition, and Atonement were their own little trilogy.

Now, another question, before I start my Voyager re-read:

I know that between the Golden and the Beyer novels, I want to look up some of the TNG novels. Thanks, Thrawn for the list :)

The question is: do I want to review Q&A and Before Dishonor only, or do any of the others REALLY affect the Voyager storyline and characters?

Thanks.

Reread Q&A, but don't bother with Before Dishonor. It's garbage and should be thrown out as such. Skip it and go straight to Greater Than The Sum.

Anything important is referenced in subsequent books as needed or retroactively made to make actual sense.

In regards to the OP, I was a little confused as well when I started reading it thinking I'd missed a book, but really it had just been so long since the previous book I'd forgotten the majority of the plot and only really remembered the Setting & General Situations.

The plot eventually all came together narrative-wise but certainly didn't feel that way at first glance. Again, just due to time lag.

In retrospect, I wish they'd just released these books a bit closer together considering how connected they were.
