The game is out!

Whether you enjoy the gameplay is a matter for debate.

In terms of lore:
1. The Federation knows about the planet Orisi. According to Holo-Janeway, there's an entry on Orisi at Memory Alpha.
2. Gwyn's mysterious nano-tech sword is called the fretwork sword.
3. The cute furballs Rok-Tahk was hypnotized with in the Hirogen system are real. They are called Punnies.
4. The Captain's Room on the Protostar includes models of the Phoenix and Deep Space 9.
5. Gwyn uses the word Brikar when the tricorder picks up a lifesign. This is the first time Rok-Tahk's species is called out on "screen".
6. The transwarp-evolved Human sub-species is called amphibious lifeform. Chakotay kept a plushie of evolved Janeway in his bed.

There are playthroughs on Youtube. I skimmed through one of those to look for dialogue that may be relevant for the main series. As I skimmed it and skipped parts that seemed to be only combat/puzzles, I may have missed something.

I think three things stand out (spoiler tags for those who want to play the game):
1. A Drednok iteration is the main baddie in the game. This Drednok came from the future with the ship Rev-13, a variant of the Diviner's Rev-12. He does not recognise Gwyn by name, but he does realise she is Vau N'akat and makes similar reproaches as the Diviner did ("you side with outsiders"). His mission is the same as the Diviners (and this Drednok also had a master, who is already dead at the time of the game), but in the game he wants to travel even further back in time in another attempt to destroy the Federation/save Solum. He cannot do this solely using the Rev-13, but he needs alien tech/power to achieve the conditions necessary.
2. The game seems to imply that the Protostar is also the ship that made/would have made first contact with Solum (see

from 1h21.), unless my interpretation is way off here.
3. The most interesting tidbit, I think: a "henchrobot" of this Drednok iteration says the following to Gwyn: "you were created to carry the shadows inside you" (

at 13min 38 seconds. The subtitles use a different phrasing, so listen closely to the somewhat muffled audio. Gwyn is confused by this, see her comment at about 19min 30 seconds). In one of the earlier parts, Gwyn made an offhand comment during banter with Dal, that she, as a Vau N'akat, is a weapon. While referring to her general prowess in combat, it does seem to hint about Gwyn possibly being part of the "living construct" that is the weapon onboard the Protostar. The game also makes it clear that Gwyn has not only forgotten about the weapon, but everything the Diviner said about why he hates the Federation/Starfleet.

I'll refrain from clicking the spoiler yet - still in the first playthrough. I'm enjoying it so far. The co-op systems reminds me of the game Star Trek, with Kirk and Spock.

Long have I waited for this game to drop.

For purely selfish assets reasons.

Ship model is a bit low poly for my liking though.

I watched a playthrough. Phaser sounds like almost nothing, characters grunt and go ugh argh ungh all the time like recut Twain, camera seems to be fixed, no looking around or zooming in, and gameplay is very repetitive with always the same puzzles and battles. They do show a SF rifle and cannon that might show up on the show later.

WTF, why glowy LED's highlighting the StarFleet insignia?

Are they trying to get the user killed?

Seriously?!?!

That's on the hand phaser too. I guess it's supposed to be for training only, and new cadets need to burn the SF logo into their memories :D

Btw, Dal asks Gwyn about wanting a relationship, a boyfriend, and she says perhaps sometime... was hoping it would be something less typical, like Dal & Murf, or Gwyn & Zero:D

Phasers are only lethal if the plot calls for it.

Actually, that would make sense for officers to be able to identify training ones over active ones quickly in an emergency.

Not that phasers do much.

It was clear from the pilot episode that Dal & Gwyn already had a thing going on.

I have the impression that both even expected the other to drop their respective ties with their "families" (Dal wanted Gwyn to leave her father voluntarily, and Gwyn wanted Dal not to be involved with Zero, to stop his escape attempts and to help catch Zero) and both were angry that the other one did not change allegiance overnight "for love".

It makes sense, for Dal Gwyn is the only one who he could talk to at Tars Lamora (all the others don't understand his language, with exception of Drednok and the Diviner, who probably weren't very pleasant in conversations with Dal) and Gwyn was probably also looking for companionship and warmth that she didn't get from the Diviner. And while she talked to others like the Caïtian child, I would bet Dal is the only one who was remotely potential boyfriend material. When she talks about him to the Diviner, it's clear she's taken with him. Dal does have a certain charm. She later warns the others about that (while she is at her most angry, having just been kidnapped), that listening to Dal's nice words can be dangerous.

Now that Gwyn has turned on the Diviner and the petty mutual anger is gone, the attraction is what remains.

Lol.
The first thought to mind was: 'Ok... kinky.'... but the second thought was: 'Why?'
And now I'm thinking it could be just for laughs and that Chakotay mentions it to Janeway on an occasion to 'rub it in'.

My first thought was 'Did I read that correctly?', my second thought was 'Can I buy an amphibious lifeform plushie? Do they exist?'. Sadly I think not. Searching returns this thread, images of Kermit the Frog, a leaf insect plush and a trilobite plush.

I wonder if somebody can eventually do an "out of bounds" of the game. The environs are beautiful - I might revisit Taresse during Christmas time, it's very 'moody' - but you can't take it all in due to the fix camera.

Another thing I've noticed, the characters frequently reference Alpha/Beta Quadrant species. Perhaps they were exposed to them by training on the Protostar. But I would've expected/liked a few throwaway lines about Kazon, Devore, etc.

I didn't see that in the playthrough :D
They made Murf plushies for NYCC, so it's not completely impossible...
In the LDS game, they call them slugs, but they look much more like amphibians than slugs.

From the design of the plushie, somebody skilled in crafting could recreate it.
I have played the LDS game but not come across a reference to the slugs yet. Do they appear in a holodeck simulation, or in dialog scenes?
