I am starting this poll out of curiosity. I've seen quite a few people say that The Intendant is hotter than the Prime Universe Kira, although there are some who find her creepy. I find it very interesting to learn why people find one character more or less sexy than another played by the same actor.

So... which one is hotter/sexier/more attractive and why?

Mirror. Prime Kira is very restricted and protective. The Intendant is more attractive, because she takes the character of Kira and loosens her up a lot. However, I agree with the fact that Prime Kira is a nicer person.

Prime Universe Kira, without a doubt. Seeing as the two characters have (obviously) the same physical appearance, it has to come down to attitude. I've always thought Kira Nerys was sexually appealing, or at least in many ways fits my personal idea of a woman I'd like to build an intimate relationship with.

Because it is easier than typing up something equivalent again , I'll re-post the nice things I said about Kira in the "Sexiest Star Trek Character" poll:

So much about her fits what I would be looking for in a "girlfriend": Spiritual, strong-willed, emotional, direct in her attitude and conduct with great complexity beneath it, hands-on, protective (in the "military officer" rather than the "parental" way), strong, dedicated to her people, physically appealing in a functional, natural way rather than through her makeup or clothes (the more "natural" a woman looks the more attractive I find her), in a position of authority and leadership...and still vulnerable in her way, enough so that I could be there for her as well, (I of course want my lover to need me as much as I her- I don't want to be some sort of clingy parasite :)). Kira's instability and trauma makes me feel she could use someone to be there behind her, supporting her and healing her wounds as well as looking up to her. A woman raised in such trying and difficult circumstances but who becomes such a strong figure of the best in her people is appealing to me (the scene in the penultimate episode where she watches Damar rally the Cardassian civilians on the street is one of my favourite- how she just stands there, watching, realizing that Damar is for Cardassia what Shakaar is for Bajor- and that she was there behind them both, influencing and backing and supporting them both times. She is a hero to Bajor and to Cardassia. She has also helped Damar, who originally seemed to embody everything she hated (Cardassian thuggish militarism), become everything she admires (selfless heroism for the sake of one's people)). All in all, Odo was a lucky man. Still, there's still something that prevents her having quite the impact on me she could have. Maybe she's a little too angry and traumatized in the early seasons (understandable given her upbringing and history, nothing wrong with it from a characterization viewpoint, but a little off-putting in regards to intimacy). I also think she could have used more of a sense of humour, as I find a lack of humour quite disappointing.

The Intendent, on the other hand, is not spiritual, is interested only in her own pleasures and seems to lack the strength of mind Kira is known for (certainly there is no moral strength in her, only desire). She shows no real complexity due to her fixation on her own pleasure, and spends so much time projecting a mask in order to manipulate others that she loses herself. She has no idea who she truly is beneath her title, or so I've always assumed. She's an act, an act designed to manipulate others and enhance her base desires wherever possible. Of particular importance in regards to "sexy", she seems to view sex and sexuality in terms of manipulation or simple gratification, whereas "our" Kira is clearly searching for a spiritual and intellectual companion. Our Kira is loyal to her friends, lovers, etc; the Intendent would sell her lover out for a chocolate bar. The Intendent also throws gratitious makeup and clothing over herself excessively to enhance her physical apperance (which as I said often detracts from a woman's attractiveness in my eyes), and is dedicated not to Bajor but to herself. Yes, she's also in a position of authority and leadership, but hardly one I can look up to and support (slaves labouring in the ore refinary is hardly a romantic backdrop in my eyes...). Ironically, she has a sense of humour, but not a healthy one...

The Intendent is not sexy at all. She tries to be, but she isn't (and that's in part why she isn't). She'd prefer manipulating her self-image and the image others have of her to actually behaving in a manner that would legitimately earn her appreciation. Of course, lots of people in the MU are like that...

Our Kira is sexier by a looooooong shot. :)

Prime. The mirror version's good to watch, but you wouldn't want to meet her!
Speak for yourself.

Actually, the difference is really only that Intendant Kira wore a more form-flattering, i.e. tighter, uniform. Something about Bajoran pants creates the impression of a big butt.

I think the Mirror Kira is much like prime-universe Dukat: we know what she could've been but she seems to have hidden from/drowned that part of herself in serious narcissism. The Intendant and Gul Dukat were made for each other. In Hell.

The Mirror-universe Kira was obviously hotter and open (i.e., that shiny tight uniform, and non-discriminating when it came to sexual partners) but she didn't have any problem blasting you if she needed to.

Prime universe Kira loosened up a bit in later seasons, and got more attractive when she became Colonel and changed her hairstyle.

Dukat was much more complex than The Intendant (even if ISB did his best to ruin that). She was a rather one-dimensional, over-the-top character. I don't think she ever thought she was a good person or a heroine, or that she could have convinced anyone that she was, or that anyone would have really admired her and sincerely followed her. The only thing remotely interesting about her is that she is supposed to be the mirror version of Kira. In order to be more interesting, she would either have to have someone to care about, or anything to believe in, even if superficially, or at the very least, she would have to be less obviously selfish and sadistic.

You might have noticed that I am not the biggest fan of the Intendant. I prefer multidimensional villains who think they're good guys and are able to convince others (and even some of the audience) that they are.

Nana Visitor has said that the Intendant was actually closer to her real personality than Major Kira was.

I think what I have always found off-putting was how much Kira played the angry and distrustful card. She really came across like someone with an unpleasant past. Now obviously there is a good reason for that in the character and it's a credit to Visitor that she was able to so strongly mine that aspect of the character, but I just don't think I personally would be strong enough to survive that in a relationship

Really?! I've read the interview in which she said The Intendant was a completely OTT character and that she played her that way, "like a drag queen". It had no idea Nana was a drag queen. :p

I wanted to kill MU Kira. She was such a whore. Definitely Prime Kira.

This, a thousand times this. Disgust and annoyance are really the only two things I'm capable of feeling about the Intendent. Kira Nerys, however, is a wonderful character who I enjoyed watching (in more ways than one)

The Intendent was a great character for the Mirror Universe and kind of took treachery to a whole new level, but she wasn't hot, she made my skin crawl!

The Intendant is just an evil, nasty slut you wouldn't even want to fall asleep on, as she'd probably cut your throat. Give me Prime Kira any time! As Quark said, "I love a woman in uniform!" -- RR

It's kind of interesting to me that there's a lot of "the Intendant is a slut, and that's why I hate her" vibe going on. Her sexual rapaciousness was never what bothered me about her. I can actually respect a person who knows what they want and goes for it if they're not hurting others in the process. What bothered me about her is that underneath all the bluster and the over the top theatrics, she was basically a child. She had all the morality of a toddler. Toddlers want what they want, and they want it now. They don't give a flying crap who it inconveniences, hurts, or bothers. She was very much the same way, and that degree of selfishness is not at all attractive.

Nana Visitor is incredibly sexy to me as Prime Kira. As MU Kira, she looked hot, but as soon as she started opening her mouth, she sort of killed it.
