Patrick Stewart dating a woman 40 years younger....

Half your age plus seven.

The route to happiness.

Some may have heard this formula before but don't know where it comes from. It's an ancient Greek idea, specifically from Plato. I think it may be debatable whether classical philosophies should be strictly adhered to thousands of years later in a completely different society.

do you think Picard would have approved, or would he consider it improper or immoral?

:o
Who cares? As long as they're both consenting adults - what's the problem. I don't think either one is unaware of the realities of that type of relationship.

I'm sooooooooo happy for Patrick; they're so many people who struggle to find love; especially when many has to deal with the small minds, who want to poison the well with their MORAL superiority. Those people will never be happy and will be alone, and miserable for the rest of their mini-brain lives. Keep your head up, Patrick, and keep smiling, and treat your woman like she should be treated... like a lady.

Unless she is tied up in his basement against her will, it's none of my business.

You do know Picard is not a real person, right? There is no way of knowing how 'he' would feel about such a situation.

Picard isn't real?!!! :wtf:

people frequently make hypothetical threads asking 'would a character do this?' 'would a character do that?' etc.... why is this any different? I don't understand why people are getting so enraged here. Personally I don't have a problem with age-gap relationships, but a line must be drawn.... this far and no further! - 40 years is too much

Well, because Stewart and his SO are real people, and what you're doing here is inviting really skeevy and judgmental gossip about the two of them. It's got nothing to do with Picard...nothing at all.

I'm not enraged. I rarely get enraged and if I did it wouldn't be over something like this. Unless we have some kind of insight from a book somewhere we don't know what Picard would have thought.

Okay, I just looked this up, as I generally don't interest myself in the personal goings-on of celebrities. So Patrick Stewart and Sunny Ozell started dating in 2008 and got married in 2013.

In other words, this is old news.

As long as they're both happy and contented, no one has a goddamn right to pass a moral judgement on Patrick and his wife.

What an utterly useless thread that seems to say more about OP than anything.
