NFL Training Camp / Preseason 2010

Harvin collapsed in practice and was taken away in an ambulance. Some reports say he was vomiting and convulsing heavily.

Chilly said it wasn't a seizure but was seizure like.

Could be bad. :(

I've never had a migraine that bad before. I'm glad I've had ones much milder. My sister had one a couple of weeks ago that lasted almost 4 days.

The article was quoted above you, but it sucks to see this happen. I've never been a sufferer of migraines, thank God, but both of my sisters are, as is at least one mod here at Trek BBS whom I consider a good friend, and it's a horrific condition.

I can't imagine how painful it is to continue to play football while enduring constant migraines. When my younger sister gets one, she has to basically sit in a dark room with a dark, wet washcloth over her face for at least two or three hours. I really hope he can somehow get treatment to handle this stuff.

Also, I'm the biggest Brett Favre critic in the Midwest, but people wishing for his ankle to get hurt again? Really?

Johnson is finally at home with Redskins

This was not Larry Johnson's first Redskins training camp. Growing up in La Plata, Md., Johnson's roots stretched deep into a community filled with passionate football fans, in many cases enemies who lived next door to one another.

Hail to The Redskins! :D

Mark Sanchez was caught on camera complaining about having to pay 59 cents for extra sauce on pizza.

So, the Texans 2nd round draft choice, a nice RB, is out for the season after his second run from scrimmige in the 1st preseason game.

Wonderful. LOL

Last night, the Bears' so-called "offensive line," which in actuality comprises five manchildren with cerebral palsy, allowed Jay Cutler to get sacked five times in 21 dropbacks. Left tackle Chris Williams let Kamerion Wimbley use him as a turnstile, giving up 3 1/2 sacks on his own.

This ... this is not going to be a good year.

But in better news Des Clark proved himself as a viable backup long snapper! Oh wait...

If only it were this easy.

Wow... Denver really lost to Detroit last night. The good news is that Orton is still looking very sharp. Even with that one int to his name, his through was right in the receiver's hands.... the receiver just tipped it up for the pick. Orton's 58 second drill was very impressive. Gaffney continues to pick up right where he left off against Kansas last year and looks to be a top target for Orton. Quinn didn't look completely attrocious, but I still don't want him touching my football team. Unfortunately can't comment on The Boy Wonder since he sat the game out. The penalties by the first team were just retarded, especially since they cost themselves 2 or 3 huge plays on stupid things. I'm hoping Denver can get healthy in the next couple weeks. It was nice to watch a game where they weren't getting stopped every third play because of an injury.

Portis seems likely to remain top running back

It seems clear that Clinton Portis will retain his position as the Redskins' top back to open the season.

Although Coach Mike Shanahan insists the competition at running back, as well as most positions, still is open with two preseason games remaining, it would be extremely surprising if Portis is not the starter in the regular-season opener Sept. 12 against the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys at FedEx Field.

Portis had another effective, albeit brief, performance during Saturday night's 23-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens at FedEx. Working primarily as the Redskins' third-down back, Portis gained 14 yards on two rushes and had a five-yard reception.

Meanwhile, Larry Johnson, presumably Portis's chief competitor for the first-team job, had a poor outing in his "showcase" game. The starter Saturday in the back rotation (Portis started the preseason opener against Buffalo), Johnson gained only four yards on eight rushes and was ineffective as a receiver out of the backfield and as a blocker on passing plays.

It is good to have 2 good backs no matter who starts.

Bradford looked pretty good last night against the Patriots.

:techman:

I hope Donnie Avery's injury isn't too bad. I tell you, I really hate pre-season football.

If Avery's out for the season, that leaves ... what, a jar of mayonnaise as the Rams' #1 receiver?

I live near Boston, so we got that game last night. It looked awful. Those no contact injuries are just sad to watch.

It was rough (but classy) to see Welker go offer him his support.

Is it just me, or is the whole blown ACL/MCL a recent trend?
