NFL Talk - 2010-11 Season

It seemed to me that the sound was off from having to switch between where autotune was active or not.

And just why exactly Slash there? Seemed really random to me. Did he work with the BEP at some point?

But the game itself was close a lot of times which is a good thing.

Yeah, but it was also pretty boring, especially in the first half. It's not really their fault for playing a boring game as their goal is to win, not to keep me entertained. But dammit, I was really hoping for more.

I wasn't sure if I should write about how disappointed I was with this whole Super Bowl Experience because I actually enjoyed Glee Tonight and that got me in a good mood.

Now that it's been a few hours, I figured I would post some thoughts as a whole.

-I loved the Glee Halftime Show more than the Real Halftime Show. For those who don't watch Glee or Hate Glee, I don't blame you (I'm not going to get into that debate) but let's just say the Glee Halftime show in the episode was a mash up of Thriller and Heads will Roll. Quite Frankly, I had fun with it but this is about the Super Bowl so let's go there. What the hell was that. For one the singing was atrocious, but everything about it was an overproduced mess. That might be one of the worst Half Time Shows I've seen ever. If you wanted to modernize it but keep it good, they should have had Carrie Underwood do Halftime. It brings in the American Idol Crowd, She is the big country music star right now and it's in Texas, and she's modern to the point where it's not another "old foogie."

- Christina Agularia was terrible during the National Anthem. I watched it again and yes she did fumble the words. If you want a good National Anthem, well, I'm posting this Youtube Video because it's my favorite of all time:

- Did like Lea Michele doing America The Beautiful though. Today was a good day for Glee I think.

-As for the game, it was ok. It was competitive, but I won't remember it down the road. Like the announcers were saying everything seemed to go according to plan and that made things predictable.

-The Commercials were terrible too. Nothing Memorable and I know it will be talked about ad nausiem, but I've already moved on.

I'm sorry but this Super Bowl wasn't all that great. Maybe I'm tired of Football season but I enjoyed Glee and the NHL Games more than the big game of the day more.

I also think I'm getting tired of this overproduced cost a lot of money to make it go wasting down the drain spectacle that the game has become. I mean the Halftime show had me thinking about this economy and how people are struggling to make ends meat, yet all this money is going for so-called "Entertainment" which most people hated (Reading the internets and twitter). I know they are never going to cut back, but I wish they would. A lot of this money could be used to help the economy and create jobs. I hate to get on a political high horse, but that thought crossed my mind watching this thing today. I'm glad it's over and we can continue the NHL season and bring on the Baseball season.

The Dixie Chicks version of the anthem was, and is, awesome. I mean it's damn-near perfect. The three of them can harmonize with one another greatly. It's too bad later that same year, 2003, Natalie had to open her stupid mouth and pretty much wreck their careers. (But more of a shame people thought speaking against your government leaders was "unpatriotic" and was worth of a massive boycott) But, yeah, their Anthem is just awesome.

@NFLprguy The 400 fans w/out seats last nite went on field postgame, received free merchandise, food, beverage, $2,400, free SB46 tickets

^ I'd say merchandise, food, drinks, Super Bowl tickets for next year, and $2,400 more than makes up for that.

That's what I was thinking. It's a huge embarrassment for the NFL, so they have to make it right as quickly as possible. And that all sounds like the associated costs for their trip to XLV are covered, plus they get free tickets to XLVI. (did I spell that right?)

The one thing they didn't and cannot cover is the witnessing of XLV in person. This was special with the two teams involved. Who knows when the next game of this magnitude may come around? I suppose it's possible for next year....

Hats off to the "Pack". They executed when the Steelers couldn't.
I am getting sick though, of alll these commentators stating that the Steelers just weren't good enough to play against Green Bay as if Aaron Rogers was the greatest gift to football. Well since Favre anyways...:wtf:

Is this the worst Super Bowl halftime show of all time?

Last night's was pretty awkward, but that second-rate CSI theme song cover band they had last year was the worst performance I've seen in a long time.

They've been terrible for years. I just wish they could have a) a single cohesive band and not a medley of random people, b) a group from this country, and c) a group that isn't so far past their prime that some of the members are no longer with us. B isn't that big of a deal, but I thought even the Rolling Stones played a terrible Superbowl show.

I don't know. It sounds like a lot, but when you look at travel costs and the sky high prices tickets were going for this year, I'm sure many of those fans probably shelled out more than that. It's good that they included tickets for next year, but for Packers and Steelers fans, going to the game next year might not be as meaningful.

Anyway, I'm thrilled that the Pack won. If I didn't have the hangover to prove it, I might not beleive they actually pulled it off.

Glad I watched the game at a bar and could mostly ignore the halftime show. From what I saw, it looked like a cheesy olympics opening ceremony show.

I thought Springsteen did a good show myself.

In non-Superbowl news, Titans hire Mike Munchak as head coach! He's been with the franchise since 1982 as a player and then a coach, so this is definitely a sign of stability. Considering how well the Titans O-line has played for the last, oh... always, I think it's a good move if Munch can get the whole teams playing just as well.

Now the question is who becomes the DC and the O-line coach? Any chance we could pry Bruce Matthews away from Houston?
