I know I'm late to the party, but the defense didn't seem to be the problem.
Before the Super Bowl the Defense underachieved. I would say the SB was their best game, but when you have guys like Bosa and Warner and it looks like you underachieved, I'm not surprised Wilks was fired.
After releasing JC Jackson, the Patriots have $101 million in cap space.
If they don't find a capable QB, it won't matter.
Chris Mortensen, who won several awards throughout his career for his coverage and investigation of the NFL, passed away this morning at 72.
He announced in 2016 he had been diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer, and officially retired from ESPN last September.

Jason Kelce is officially retiring after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now he can devote himself to tailgating at Travis' games full-time next season!

The Broncos' paid too much. But it wouldn't have been quite as bad if they had gotten a "in-his-prime" Wilson.
In all seriousness though, who's going to want him?
I wouldn't say he burned bridges, but he has lost a lot of goodwill with his performance both on and off field when he arrived in Denver.
The most he could hope for is a backup position.

I don't know? Las Vegas needs a QB, as does Atlanta, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, New England, Minnesota. Only reason I don't have Chicago or Washington here, is that they are pretty much locks to take QB's.
Someone will take a flyer on him. It would be stupid not to, especially given his numbers bounced back to a degree after an off 2022.
