ACL injuries by team since 2013:

I hate the fact that the 49ers are first on this list. They've been so injury prone since Shanahan came in. Not saying he is the cause, but every year you expect something bad to happen and this year the injury bug hit hard.

Ravens give Lamar Jackson the nonexclusive franchise tag, meaning if another team signs him the Ravens can match or get two first round picks.

Daniel Jones gets a four-year deal with the Giants, so the team puts the franchise tag on Saquon Barkley.

Seahawks have placed their near-future in the hands of quarterback Geno Smith with a three-year $105 million dollar contract. $40 million guaranteed at signing and $30 million is in performance incentives. Denver fans are probably going nuts right now.

I looked it up and he's only 32. For some reason it seems like he's been knocking around for longer than that.

He did a very good job. Sometimes the right situation at the right time...

He can leave in a year if it doesn't work, and allows them some wiggle room. He is also willing to tutor the replacement so there is some room for Seahawks to plan a future without Geno if necessary.

Dolphins pick up Tua's fifth-year option.

Devin McCourty retires after 13 seasons and 3 Super Bowl titles.

Adam Schefter claiming the Bears have agreed to trade the #1 pick to Carolina for:
#9 & #61 this year
first round pick in 2024
second round pick in 2025 (a little late?)
Plus WR DJ Moore

Carolina wants to make sure it gets its pick of the QBs. The Texans have the second pick and rumors abound on how they'll use it. They do need a QB though, it'll be interesting.

I ... I can't bring myself to hate this trade. Moore is a great get to bolster the shitty-to-mediocre receiving corps, and that 2024 pick is likely to be pretty high, top 10 possibly (and it's pretty likely the Bears will still wind up with a top 15 pick next year).

Now they just need to rebuild the offensive line. And the defensive line. And find a weak-side linebacker. And a cornerback. And decide what they're going to do at running back.

The o-line. Yeesh. I saw someone on yahoo quoting something about the Bears being 2nd in pass-win rate (whatever that is). Possibly another stat that doesn't really tell us anything. I watched all the Bears games, Fields had 2-3 seconds to pass most of the times he tried being a proper QB. Nobody's gonna look good with that much time.

I just hope Poles can get some OL guys that are good, but more importantly, can stay healthy. We've had OL guys dropping like flies for years now. At least they could change the game plan and have Fields running the ball on purpose, and it led to some good yardage. But it's not the cure-all.

As far as the trade, past instances of trading the #1 pick have gotten better and worse returns. The proof will be in the picking.

Pretty sure we need a #2 QB as well, tho that will probably need to be a FA signing. I still say sign Monty. Better the devil you know if injuries are a part of the equation. We could use a speed RB though, we have grinders at #1 and #2.

Rams trading Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins for a third round pick and TE Hunter Long.

Bucs rumored to be targeting Baker Mayfield to be QB 1.

:wah:

Damn. I love Jalen, and was really hoping some kind of miracle would happen.

Alas, we are in Salary Cap Hell.

I wish him all the best.
