It's recently been revealed by an errant(?) listing on GameFly that a new Star Trek game for the WII is in the works targeting the Nintendo Wii gaming console.

No formal announcements of this 'Action Adventure' based game have been made yet, apparently titled Star Trek: Conquest (Not to be confused with Star Trek: Conquest Online, a previous game that didn't fair so well).

Check out the box image showing several familiar races (No Borg! Dominion and Cardassian!) and an unknown race symbol.

With a release date of November, we can hope this thing won't be rushed. Even though the game's still by Bethesda, I just may give this one another chance. After all, from the look of the cover, this might be a very nice change from all the annoying Borg skirmishes we seem to play in games. :p I'm glad I found a Wii.

Oh, and just so everyone knows, the peeps at STGU think that unknown symbol is Breen. Dominion War, here we come?

Wow, Bethesda's making it? They're AWESOME, mostly because they're responsible for Oblivion.

The only Trek game I've ever played, though, is Bridge Commander, and that's mostly because Data was in it...

Hmmm...with a release date so close, you'd think there would be something on ign.com, but there isn't. I did find something here. The lack of news on this game makes me think that this game will either bomb, or be nothing special. Recent Trek gaming has been a disappointment.

Well it does not take a mathematician to see Bethesda has jumped on the platform with the biggest user base at the moment.

Now we just have to wait and see if the game is any good or if its a Legacy..

But i agree with ADAGIO, now news about this game does not bode well.

That's what I think. The symbols line up like the two factions in the war.

Bethesda's track record as a publisher of Trek games is abysmal. This is a wait-and-see title, at best.

Bethesda botched the PC version of Legacy so bad, I would almost assume that this game consists of unused portions of the DS9 section of Legacy.

In Legacy, there are tons of missions and story with ENT, TOS, and TNG, and then all of a sudden… a couple of quick shots of DS9 and VOY. As the company ran out of time making the game (after delay after delay) they probably had a lot of undone ds9 dominion war stuff. So, in classic Bethesda fashion, they’re slapping the unused stuff together, instead of taking any time to make a decent patch for the PC disaster. Anything to milk that license while they can.

This is like when Star Trek: Encounters was released for PS2 last August or so. No one had any idea about it until it showed up.

I kind of had my fingers crossed for a Star Wars game first. Y'know, slingin' a lightsabre around with the wii controller?

But Trek... sure thing. It's all good. Wonder if it's Bridge Commander style or Elite Force style. Either way, I'm in.

They weren't the developers, they were the publishers.
Mad Doc was the one who screwed it up.

Good point. And I thought Encounters for PS2 was surprisingly good, especially since you could get it on sale for $9.99 when it began selling. At that price, it's a pretty decent little game.

I've also heard decent things about Tactical Assault for the PSP and some people seem to like Legacy for the 360. The main failure (and I mean, really really big failure) was Legacy for the PC.

Actually the 360 still has the biggest userbase, but the Wii is catching up.

I hope this game turns out to be good, but I have my doubts. Hopefully we'll see some screen shots/videos soon.

^^^ I remember quite a lot of promotion for encounters, which is barely worth renting.
Say what? I must have been living under a rock at that time then. :wtf:

Star Trek: Legacy was the most incomplete game I have ever played. The "epic story" was botched up. You have to look at the extras to even begin to understand it and one of the writers offered to help players piece things together.

I do not have a Wii though I have thought about getting one(they look really fun). If the past *Star Trek* games put out by Bethesda are any indication then I would give Star Trek Conquest a wide berth.

There use to be a turn based PC game called Star Trek: Conquest. I wonder if there is any relation between that and this one.
