Okee doke, I hadda get a second bash done this year or I'd'a been ashamed of myself.
This is an excelsior-base tug/transport designed to use the classic Franz Joseph cargo pods, in a side-by-side arrangement that Jackill first used on a Miranda-based tug. The LN-64 nacelles are from the SSM store's Dark Star kitbashing set. The aft hull is sheet styrene (I guess that's prett obvious! ).
Decals are from everybody - Home made for the ship name, numbers & pennants, DLM Excelsior color panels, JTGraphics window decals, and some PNT detail decals.
The cargo pods are made from 1.5" thickwall PVC pipe. The end caps are sections of some plastic spherical gashapon capsules. The pod-mounting pads on the ship are resin pieces from PNT Models' PL E tug conversion kit. Thomas was kind enough to send me a few rejects from his scrap pile that didn't need too much fixing.
And lemme tell ya, it took me quite a while to figure out a stand that supported everyhing!
The cargo pods are removeable. I used the locations of the two turbolift apertures in FJ's plans for holes in the ship, and two brass rods in each pod.
Here's a family portrait with its grandpa, PNT's classic FJ tug conversion.
Enjoy!
