Vancouver (and the surrounding area) fills in for everywhere in existence. Supernatural films here, and I think they have used it to represent pretty much every city in the USA on that show, Wiseguy filmed here, V films here, Highlander filmed here, Battle Star Galactica filmed here, Fringe films here, all series of Stargate films here, X-Files filmed here, Dark Angel filmed here, Sliders filmed here, 21 Jump Street filmed here, and so, so many more. Strange Luck, Nowhere Man, Lone Gunmen, Dead Like Me, the 4400, Andromeda, Eureka, First Wave, Harsh realm, Blade, MacGuyver, Millennium, Mysterious Ways, Smallville, Relic Hunter, and more I am sure.

I'm pretty sure out of all of those only Wiseguy (for part of one season) and maybe a season of Highlander were actually said to be taking place in Vancouver. the rest of the time it covers for every other city on earth.

So a Law & Order series filmed here could take place across all space and time. That would be a different twist on the series.

Some episodes of Highlander and Highlander: the Raven were shot in France. Duncan and Joe's base of operations in the U.S. were said to be in the town of Seacouver.

Smallville is laughable with how they depict other cities with their Vancouver location because they simply had black kids playing basketball outside to convey it was Detroit.
