Surely, if nothing else FOX needs something to hang it's proverbial hat on after 13 months without a $100m film. If it does push marginally past $400m worldwide you'd think the studio would as least seriously weigh the prospects of making a sequel to their ONLY $100m domestic film from 2010 AND a franchise they took over. Making a sequel would at least make a surface statement that they are proud of their investment.

^^^^
Narnia already broke the 13 month long streak without a $100m film.
X-Men:FC will just be one, if not the first, $100m film for the studio in 2011.

^ April 12 or April 5 (which was gonna be my direct date guess). Sweet...first one without the kids commentary though :(

Not yet. It's being released in Japan at the end of February. Prince Caspian made $27.7 million in Japan, so Japanese box office should ensure that Dawn Treader goes over $400 million worldwide.

I wonder when we'll get a DVD release announcement? I'm guessing probably not until next month at the soonest. They probably wanna see if they can squeeze another couple weekends out of this movie.
^^^
Not till February at the earliest but I'd say more like March.
It's still a top 5 film currently.
It'll get at least 2 weekends in the top 10 I suspect from January.
After it's been out of the top 10 a few weeks we will be more likely to get a DVD announcement.
DVD release date was on the front side of my guess. Here it is early Feb and we now have the specs on the DVD release.

Chronicles of Narnia Voyage of the Dawn Treader on DVD April 8, 2011
It's up for pre-order on Amazon.com

The next US domestic total mark I want to see VOTDT cross now is $105m, it might just do it.

I wonder if the drug overdose was an unfortunate result of him being in a celebratory mood for having secured financing for The Magicians Nephew? If so was he the lynchpin or could this still move forward with others in the role of Producer(s).

If he was securing finances for The Magician's Nephew, does that mean it's already been secured for The Silver Chair and The Horse and His Boy?
