My IMAX 70MM Film Print of "Star Trek Into Darkness"

Hello everyone! I'm a young filmmaker that collects and preserves IMAX 70MM Film; my favorite format to watch movies. One of my many collected films happens to be "Star Trek Into Darkness", in which 30 mins of footage was captured with IMAX Cameras! This IMAX 70MM Film Print is one of my very special ones; as it's the same print I watched the film on at it's midnight premiere! I thought I'd share a few scans for you all to enjoy! I went through the entire feature getting the best of the best IMAX Captured scenes for you all to enjoy; specifically, Spock (Zachary Quinto) vs Khan (Benedict Cumberbatch)! I'm planning to do a screening of the film again at some point at my real IMAX 70MM Film Theatre; but more on that later in a future post! Comment below and let me know what you think of these incredible IMAX and 'Star Trek' treasures; and please share!

Sooooooooo awesome!!! I loved watching those sequences on IMAX, I thought the movie was a great movie experience. For me, I got goosebumps every time the Enterprise propulsion units powered up and expanded before blasting into warp speed. I also liked the residue of ice particles after the event. I thought the Spock/Khan chase sequence was exciting as well.

Nothing beats the sight and sound of the celluloid IMAX experience.

Thank you for sharing

Of Course! I love sharing as much I love learning to make movies!

these are great.

rewatched into darkness this summer and had forgotten/was annoyed by the fact that the iTunes version does not include the wider frame during the IMAX portions of the film.

Awesome! I didn't know it was possible to obtain an entire print like this.

It isn't. I help out at my real IMAX 70MM Film Theatre. And when studios don't ask for the prints to be returned, the theater throws them away to clear up space. It's why I take them and preserve them in my home editing suite!
