Mr. Homn's race/species

I'd assumed Betazed, but I'm not aware if there were any hints otherwise. Especially if Deep Space Nine episodes said anything.

We know Homn is not Betazoid (his eyes are a giveaway - unlike those of Betazoids, Homn's eyes are not all black*), but we don't know what race he actually IS.

* the best way to check this is to go to Memory Alpha and look at Homn's picture in the highest resolution possible.

Maybe Homn IS his race. I can certainly imagine Lwaxana being that indelicate. Isn't there already some reference of her doing that, Mr. Klingon, Mr. Vulcan. Mr. Android? I can't recall exactly, but it seems to ring true in my memory

He talked. He said "thank you" to Picard in one episode, and might have spoken in other episodes. I'm not sure.

I always thought him similar in personality to Maihar'du in DS9 (Zek's servant), but does that make him a Hupyrian as well? I admit that their appearances differ, but it doesn't rule it out.

The only line Homn ever had was "Thank you for the drinks" (in "Haven").

As for his species? We've never seen anyone like him, so it could be anything.
