I am pretty much only a boxing fan. I don't like other fighting sports, I think MMA is just glorified street fighting. I will sit down and watch football, but I don't go out of my way. This thread servers two functions:
1. See the sports demographics of Trekbbs.
2. To see if its worth my time to set up a boxing thread.

So what is your favorite Sport(s)?

My favorite sport is Baseball, I have played all my life. I also played Football and Basketball, being 6' 5" I had to play. However I took no great pleasure in playing. I'll watch a bit of Football on TV, mostly playoffs or Superbowl. I don't watch any Basketball, just not the sport I grew up with anymore. I hate Soccer and Hockey, I know Soccer is beloved world wide but I just don't get it, so it just me. While I have absolutely no patience for Soccer, I at least admire the skill and finesse of Hockey. Up until the fighting happen, then I realize why I hate Hockey again. I'm all for hard hits and tough play but allowing fighting in Hockey is the reason I will never take it seriously as a sport.

My favorites are Baseball, Hockey, and American Football. I watch some Basketball on occasion (Like probably tonight's game with the Celtics and Heat) but those three are my absolute favorites.

Hockey should really be on that list. It's definitely been growing in popularity over the last few years. Hell, I've been to more hockey games than anything else, and I never thought that would happen.

Unfortunately the ratings from this Stanley Cup Final says otherwise.

Yes sorry. I wrote everything down a piece of paper to help me form a list(something I am terrible at), apparently didn't work to well.

Okay, well so far only one fan for boxing, so that tells me it would be a waste of time to set up a boxing thread. To bad; good fight on tonight.

Why don't you just try your luck by starting a thread? I don't think that all people here participated in the poll. Also, others might be interested in boxing without it being their favourite sport.
I used to be fairly interested in it, years ago. I even practised it for half a year myself (but it just wasn't my kind of sport - I lack the agressiveness). I've since lost interest. Even then, I kinda looked down on professional boxing, though, because the technique is so sloppy there.

I didn't get the Pay Per View for tonight. Is Manny winning?

Bradley won by split decision but there is controversy about it because a lot of people think Manny won.

I actually was following it on Yahoo Sports and the guy kind of giving a running commentary was shocked. I don't know how boxing scoring works (Does everyone who watches a fight have their own "card" anyway?) but it sounded like Pacquiao had the upper hand. Sucks that he lost on a split decision.

It sucks especially since now Pac-Mayweather is even less likely to happen.

And that's pretty much the only thing that will bring Boxing back to respectability, on the levels of Louis/Ali or recently, Tyson/Holyfield. Wonder if the judges ended up screwing their own sport badly in the long run.

Boxing is actually my favorite sport. I watch it every week and would support a thread.

Other than boxing, I don't watch many sports. I catch some American football games during the fall, but don't really follow it.

Football (the one you heatens call soccer), rubgy, athletics, martial arts. But while my interest is varied, I don't watch much of it.

I will watch the European Champinship or the World Cup if Italy is playing, or my team is playing an important match. I usually watch the Six Nations rugby championship, but that's more of an excuse to have a few beer with my friends at out favourite pub. I enjoy watching the Olympic Games, and the odd martial arts match, but that's it. The rest holds no interest to me.

The Hype is the biggest thing about it. Mayweather is a perfect counter puncher, he has power at any weight, he can go down to Manny's ideal weight because that is where he fought as an amateur. Manny's best competition came from a great counter puncher (Marquez).
This fight is basically big vs small, Manny has no way of winning that fight unless Floyd acts like Bradley did last night.
