HELL FREAKING YES!!!!!!
When that last out was made, I actually fell to tears. Life long Giants fan going back to the mid-80's and I remember 89 and the earthquake, and the Game 6 and Baker taking out Ortiz, and I just can't be happier. It's almost so surreal and finally, finally the Trophy is coming home to the San Francisco Bay Area.
What a team this was. Everyone contributed, from Lincecum, to Bumgarner, from Posey to Rentaria. I love this team, they are WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!

I am completely beside myself...after a bit of some spirits and watching MLB Network its finally setting in...my Giants just won THE WORLD SERIES! The media must be reeling now and can't believe that a bunch of "rejects and misfits" beat everybody in the whole sport to win it all. I still can't believe it...they pulled it off!

And one I've never experienced. I was too young to appreciate the Mets in 86, and I never really had a football team until I moved to New England...after they won all those Superbowls.
Shit even the teams I randomly pick to root for at the beginning of the playoffs never win.
My two worst sports memories are Carlos Beltran staring at strike 3 and David Tyree catching that fucking ball of his helmet.
I was looking for a new team to follow after jettisoning the pathetic team I used to follow for years, and the Giants were on the short list. But now that they've won it all, I can't be a bandwagon fan. It'd be like the kid I went to middle and high school with who would always be wearing the apparel of whoever won the Super Bowl the very next day at school.
I was going through some of the first posts in this thread (Now that the season is over we can go back and retrospect on how dumb we were
), and I mentioned how Opening Day was the only day the Pirates and Royals fans has hope. It's amusing you bring it up here.

That team I decided to follow in '97, when I stumbled upon a ball game on TV, finally done it! That Team that had that awesome poster that I saw hanging in that one restaurant when I was 5 or 6, and the one that propelled me to be the first in my family to be any sort of sports fan, Won it all!
I can hate the Angels less now.

Funny, I have plenty of Giants hats, four I actually wear with any regularity. I figured on Tuesday that, since the Giants won, I'd have an excuse to add their on-field cap to my collection.
