Maybe its me, I hate Seth Rogen

I can not stand this guy. For whatever reason if he is in a movie I avoid it at all costs. He just annoys me.

Am I alone in this?

I think he's pretty funny, I've enjoyed all his movies so far and I think his voice is perfect for voiceovers.

I like him. I think he is among the top 5 comedic actors out there right now.

Last night I was watching my new Netflix drop off of Fanboys. Just cruising along enjoying the movie and when Rogan shows up, in a dual role no less and unknown to me he was in it, I began enjoying the movie more. Then when Kristin Bell was seen in the Slave Leia outfit my enjoyment was maximized but I digress.

I think he is an okay actor; I just don't think he has very good comedic timing...at least in the roles I've seen him in. I thought he was funny in Superbad, but wasn't so much in Knocked Up. It might just be the material and/or director.

In real life, I don't really care for him. It is awesome for him that was able to jet into stardom, but whenever I see him on interviews or whatnot, he has an off-putting personality.

That being said, I'd take 100 million Seth Rogans over 1 Jonah Hill. That little fucker I can't stand at all.

Hmmm, I've enjoyed pretty much every thing I've seen him in (including Funny People, which I just watched Friday). Something about his humor really strikes my funny bone.

Perhaps it is a combination of his real persona as well. I didn't mind him in Knocked Up, but recently he is either over exposed or i've seen too many interviews in which reenforces the fact I don't like him.

I don't mind him, but I think he should stick to supporting roles and voice acting.

Joy

I don't mind him. He seems decent enough and he doesn't do the exact same thing every movie (like Will Ferrell playing the overgrown kid who is both clueless and smug, now there's someone I can't stand).

He was great on Freaks and Geeks, and it's been dependent on the material since then how good he's been. But I've generally liked what I've seen.

He's definitely not as one-note as Will Ferrell.

I generally find something likeable about all comedians out there, but there are three exceptions -

Adam Sandler, Jonah Hill, and Seth Rogan. Rogan was great in Freaks and Geeks...everything since then I haven't enjoyed.

I don't know if I hate all of him, but i can't for the life of me figure out why he is getting lead roles. He's at best a second banana playing the goofy friend roles. I didn't for one second believe Katherine Heigl of Elizabeth Banks would be remotely attracted to a douchebag like that. He is good playing characters like Superbad or 40 Year Old Virgin, but beyond that he just grates on you.

I have enjoyed him in some movies, I think Pineapple Express especially is pretty goddamn hilarious

However, what I do hate is the trend in movies where these guys just have a schtick that was very popular in a movie or two and then they proceed to just beat the shit out of a dead horse. They constantly play the same character. Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell, Michael Cera and Seth Rogen too... The entire premise of the movie Year One was basically "Oh, let's take Jack Black and Michael Cera's wacky personas and put them 2000 years in the past - hilarity is sure to ensue!!"

Definitely not. The whole Seth Rogen/Judd Apatow comedy package skeeves me completely. I hate that whole school of comedy that bases itself on the idea that men are all cretinous horndogs eternally trapped in adolescence. I find that insulting, and I'm not even a guy. In the real world, Apatow heros aren't the average joes we're all rooting for; they're the guys everyone tries to avoid at weddings.
