Matt Damon sexiest man alive, Chris Pine not

BTW, it was originally going to be me, but I told them sexy sounds too feminine, so I'll take either "Strongest," "Most handsome," Or, "Coolest," man alive instead.

Matt Damon would have been a fine Kirk 10 years ago and before he became Matt Damon. Now he's too old and far too recognizable to do so. No one would see Kirk, they'd just see Matt Damon.

Going with a relative unknown, despite one NOT chosen People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, was the best direction. Besides, with all the other guys not on the list, Pine's in good company. (I was snubbed again myself.)

Would The Shatner have ever been picked Sexiest Man Alive back in his physical prime? More interestingly, did he at least make the runners-up list this year?

Y'know, I had thought that Damon was too old until I read he's 37--the Shat was 36 when TOS began, wasn't he?

With makeup he could look 5 years younger than that and make a fine Kirk.

But he likely would be too expensive.

Tell that to Winona Ryder or Kumar.

Kal Penn isn't in this movie.

What about Chris Pine sporting the green Captain's shirt complete with plunging neck line?

That's pretty sexy right? Granted, it's not actually Pine's body...
Sexy Chris PIne

But "Star Trek" won't look anything like that, since it's a reboot.

And of course that means no elements of the original will be retained in any form.

Re: Reasons men watch Trek

Men don't watch Trek to see "sexy" men. Chris Pine will do fine despite his nerdish appearance.

Re: Reasons men watch Trek

So we're selling to roughly 50.3% of the population, instead of 100%?

Excellent selling strategy!

Now explain to the forum how this plan will make us a profit.

Chris Pine might not be ranked as sexiest man, but neither is William Shatner...so, what's your point?

So you're saying William Shatner isn't sexy? What men do you find attractive?

I'm straight, so I typically don't find men sexy. ;)

However, I am assuming this post was started in reaction to this year's People's "Sexiest Man Alive" feature where Matt Damon was listed as #1.

You then pointed out that Chris Pine is not. I don't see how Pine or Damon have any connection to each other besides the fact that Pine is the new Kirk and Damon was rumored to be him. Because of that, I pointed out that Shatner was also not listed as a "2007 sexiest man".

Re: Modern sexuality

In case you don't know and have been living under the rock for the past few years, most women are bisexual these days. They will be looking at the sexy Jennifer Morrison, Zoe Salamander and Winona Ryder just as much as the men are. So you don't need to worry about putting sexy men in the movie (only 0.5% of male Trek fans are gay.)

In our dreams, maybe... :p
