Speaking as someone who's not exactly a Doom expert, could they get away with never showing his face?
I don't think you cast Downey and not let us see his face. In fact I think people would feel cheated if his role was basically just providing the voice.
As for Sam, I like that he has no interest in taking a super soldier serum, but I think maybe one should have been forced on him somehow in the D+ series. That could have been an interesting reflection of real-world history, and been dramatically interesting. But, I still like Mackie and the character, and look forward to seeing Brave New World with an open mind.
I didn't realize so many of the seasons of the different shows were spread out with so many other things between them.^ It's not really that big of a deal, but I really wish that the timeline on Disney Plus itself separated the Netflix shows by season as well.
I recall a few healed Doom stories.Yes. The comics did that for years in stories which were not flashbacks.
Yes, he's supposed to be scarred beyond recognition. Honestly, this is a fantastic role for the RDJ that was never part of the MCU. He's such a great character actor that he's been in a lot of roles when he's been hardly recognizable. I'm hoping for a Doom that you would never know was played by Downey unless you knew ahead of time, like his role in Tropic Thunder or Oppenheimer.Speaking as someone who's not exactly a Doom expert, could they get away with never showing his face?
I was kind of fond of the idea the scar being insignificant and Doom's ego keeps him masked.Yes, he's supposed to be scarred beyond recognition
Thanks for sharing that. Alas, no Agents of SHIELD, Runaways, or Cloak and Dagger. No Inhumans either, but I couldn't care less about that one.Marvel.com has posted a complete MCU timeline, including all of the Marvel One Shot shorts, and the individual seasons of all of the shows all the way up Agatha All Along, with the Netflix shows.

Oh yeah, I see it now. I just noticed that the Agent Carter series is not part of the timeline either. I would really like them to have a full timeline that you can click and watch from beginning to end as if you were watching a single series. It is, but it has all of the series under just one entry where the first season happened.
Uh... I think it's pretty obvious it's Downey in Oppenheimer even if you didn't know ahead of time?I'm hoping for a Doom that you would never know was played by Downey unless you knew ahead of time, like his role in Tropic Thunder or Oppenheimer.

People are used to name actors in roles where their faces are not seen or used at all. I'd say a healthy part of the MCU moviegoing audience is not so addicted to RDJ that they would scream in protest if his face is not seen at all. The story should be the driver behind his keeping the mask on, not pandering to Iron Man / Stark fans.
Steve Wilson as new Captain America
Most people know reshoots are common but the impression is they have almost gone about making a whole brand new movie
The only one I didn't recognize in that movie was Florence Pugh. Maybe David Krumholtz too, I can't remember. Other than that I guess I was a little squishy on Hartnett, but that's about it. My friend didn't recognize Oldman.I didn't know ahead of time and it was a good while into the movie before I realized it was him.
Right I forgot about that.
That's a fair point.
I have a pretty bad memory, so I don't remember having this conversation.

It's also included under it's own entry on Disney+'s Marvel section.

Oldman is another actor who looks completely different from movie to movie.
Does anybody else remember back when the biggest role Downey could get was Ally McBeal?
I also probably should have included Tom Conti. I've only seen him in two other things.theenglish said:Oldman is another actor who looks completely different from movie to movie.
