Martain Manhunter' spin off to replace 'Smallville?

Ah yes, that's right...he was Phelps' high-tech man. Greg even was in a two-parter as Barney and ... lessee ... was it V's Jane Badler on the team as well?

I'm still angry they replaced Peter Graves with Jon Voight in the first movie. Just couldn't get past it. Ever been in a Turkish prison? :D

Hmmm...I still say the best way to go is to do a Supergirl spin off but I guess since they let Laura go so suddenly after last season and brought her back for one episode to wrap up her storyline I guess it won't happen. Martian Manhunter show could be interesting but I agree not on the CW. On HBO...that's another story. I like Phil Morris's take on the character.

The thing to be angry about is that they turned Jim Phelps into a bad guy. They wanted Graves to play the role, but he refused to participate in the destruction of his character.

Exactly. That plus the massively unlikely chunnel helicopter chase (as well as Cruise's annoying character) made M:I 1 the only one I've bothered to look at.

I once thought that a reverse buffy/angel spin off situation would have been ideal.

The first gay superhero series, title: "Manhunter".

I don't know, MM seems an unlikely guy to carry a series, in particular on the CW. Green Arrow seems more likely but then they did pass on Mercy Reef which I thought looked quite promising.

The Smallville version does fit nicely with those averse to cheese (whatever that means) and the whole "no flights no tights" mantra. I like that Chloe Sullivan idea but I don't know if that would fly either (no pun intended).

I like the actor and it could be a great show, but not on CW.

This show either doesn't make it past the pilot show or does but gets horribly low ratings and gets cancelled.

The CW audience will not tune into this show.

On a SOT note, after PM starting playing JJ on Smallville, I had a dream in which I saw a 1960's Filmation version of what an MM cartoon would have looked like. Oddly, despite it being my dream, it just wasn't that good. :D

Your dreams must need better writers and animators.

I really only remember snippets - Smooth-bald J'onn showing up for work, changing into Jones and being yelled for by his easily-irked superior, then a scene where he's avoiding a jet of flame, and finally the obligatory 'After all, I'm not the Manhunter From Mars, am I?'.

they need to get sponsor ship from Oreoes, which might be difficult, since they crapped on the comicbook Oreo fetish and said that they didn't want no free publicity if they couldn't control it.

Do we get to see Phil painted Green?

Please dear god at some point do we get to see him singing "It's not easy being green?"
Guy Gardener, someone should take away your computer.

He'd just go and find another one, sadly... :(

If they go easy on the "no flights, no tights" rule and allow MM to be in his true form once in a while (not his blue cape and boots "superhero" form, but his true Martian form), I'd check it out. As for an adversary, why not introduce some White Martians in the mix? Why must we drag old Smallville people in it? Drop him in Denver, introduce his own cast, and let him stand on his own. Or are people still skittish about a black man as an intelligent lead character in a superhero series? Do we still want another dumbass Blade-type series?
