Luke Skywalker's Character Problem in Star Wars The Last Jedi

The original idea they presented when the first started talking about Galaxy's Edge was that they decided to make it a new planet where you could have your own unique Star Wars experience rather than just recreating the stuff in the movies. The idea was for it for it to feel like you were actually traveling to the Star Wars universe, and I could see where just recreating a bunch of stuff from the movies and mashing it together could kind of break that illusion.
see how well that works. If it is dependant on the new sequels to appeal to visitors rather than the iconic places, characters and events that have been with our culture for 40 years.. it's no wonder people are staying away

It's still early days, you can't really judge something like this based on so little time.
Doesn't matter it is generic SW. I mean it would be as if Universal set a theme park called Lampgreen, a Wizarding school 50 miles from Hogwarts. No one would care
Didn't we already cover this earlier in the thread?

Secret backstory: FSM is a designer at Universal Studios, and was shouted down when he said snowcapped roofs in the middle of Florida and a tenth-scale Hogwards with a warehouse sticking out of it would be unimmersive/cheesy and proposed "Lampgreen," an American equivalent to Diagon Alley, and is now unleashing sour grapes at us all because Disney elected to use his supposedly unworkable concept for Star Wars Land.

(Alternatively, secret epilogue: The "Fantastic Beasts" movies unfuck themselves, and in an act of perverse revenge, I, now a designer at Universal Studios, lead the expansion of Wizarding World to include an original American wizard-town, which I name Lampgreen.)

You've said that multiple times. It's a false equivalency based upon presuppositions of what "real Star Wars" is.

It might not be for you. Don't worry about it and enjoy what Star Wars you do enjoy. Because, its coming across complaining for the sake of it. Not discussing anything.

Yes. He's just repeating himself, not listening to anyone else, and being deliberately annoying.

Exactly. Star Wars isn't one thing or one place. But he cannot possibly see beyond his petty preconceptions. Hey, no one is saying you have to like the dumb park, but his arguments are incredibly small and reductive.
