I've noticed some poster have already got their entries for the Avatar Contest. :D

Who's running that show anyway?

Wow, I'm really out on my own here. lol.

I gave it a Below Average.

I didn't understand a thing that was going on. I thought it was a confused mess. Characters seemed to contradict themselves constantly. They're here to kill Ben, then suddenly they're not. then suddenly they are. Oh my God.

Sorry to be the only one to say it, but this week the emperor had no clothes.
Just goes to show how much you were paying attention then. Not once has anyone been there to kill Ben, or said they were. Maybe not understanding a thing that was going on has more to do with you than the episode. Or should that be episodes, considering you're a frequent flyer in the lower grades of the poll?

And the Emperor was wearing a fucking Technicolour Dreamcoat, thank you very much.

1. Chill.

2. Frequent flyer in the low grades. No.

3. I was paying close attention, which is why it's obvious it didn't make any sense.

4. Get over yourself.

For me, everybody goes for Australia, so I usually let them fight to keep it while quietly taking South America and Africa.

The Australia Defense works a lot better if you're playing with people who don't know about it. ;) And who think the game is all about attacking the other players as much as possible.

I haven't met a person who doesn't know about the Australia Defense, so good luck on that count. ;)

Interesting I've never heard of the Australia defense. I usually win by controlling Europe and Africa.

^ Clearly! :p

Seems the interest just isn't there. But if you'd like to take over, feel free. :)
Sure, I'll stick one up tommorow. :D

I'm chill bro.

My mistake, you've got an AA for Ji Yeon.

Then could you explain posting this:

They're here to kill Ben, then suddenly they're not. then suddenly they are.
when this is clearly not the case.

4. Get over yourself.
Thanks for the advice. Got any more pearls of wisdom?

How about people who are just playing Risk because you're in a cabin with no TV reception and the other people haven't played it in years or at all. :D

It would crack me up if the comment on Lost was really meant to mean the Australia Defense in Risk - it would imply that the Island is some special territory you have to hang onto to win some larger game. But that would be obscure even for this show!

Their orders are to retrieve Ben and to kill everyone else. They've never stated they were there to kill him.

Nope.

In the season 3 finale Ben specifically says that they are there to kill every living person on the island.

So unless Ben classes himself as not living, he was on the list up until they decided he wasn't.

There are enough transcripts online that you can look it up.

It's crap like this that makes the show lose it's appeal to me, and they do it a lot.

Except that Ben would've had to explain why the freighter crew weren't interested in anyone other than him, and it's quite obvious that Ben doesn't reveal anything unless he absolutely has no other choice.

He's a liar. Why in the world would he want to come out and say "They're here for me because I'm in a war over control of this island"??

Remember the time Ben said he didn't know what the smoke monster was? Remember the time he said his name was Henry Gale and he was from Minnesota?

Here's a spoiler for you... Ben is a liar. He was saying anything he could to try and get Jack not to place the call to the freighter.

The last thing he needs are more people fighting over the Island. He's probably glad the Losties want to get off the Island. :rommie: Instead of trying to build condos and sell it off as the Magical Fun Healing/Time Travel Vortex Vacation Paradise.

Ayers Rock is supposed to be one of the 'Vile Vortices'. This isn't an in-show thing but a real life conspiracy/fantasy theory which happens to synch up to some aspects of the show. Apparently the Tunisia location where Ben and the polar bear transport to is one of the vortices or something.

http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Vile_Vortices

Err, never mind, there isn't one in Austrailia. But in a podcast one of the writers said something Ayers Rock being important as a joke. Something like that.

Dammit, there went another hour on Wikipedia.....

I could see the writers taking the "Vile Vortices" concept and expanding on it for the show. I would accept them adding or substituting vortex locations.
