Living Witness is a fantastic episode.

It's an absolutely brilliant episode, in concept, in showing the crew being evil (and in a new way), you name it. Top-5 if not top-3 with absolute ease.

KRAD just reviewed it up on TOR as well, if you're interested. :)

Janeway's opening monologue was an Instant Classic(tm).

I thought he detested VOY? Maybe I'm remembering wrong, and it's been rather a while... if he's actually doing VOY episodes now then that might be a great one to visit before others, not that I would disagree with him on some...

Just because you don't like something generally doesn't mean you can't critique it. :) I think his reviews have been pretty fair, but maybe I'm a hater, heh.

My original thought back in the day he hated the show and would never ever bother with it. The fact he is makes me intrigued and not in a bad way because I rather enjoyed if not adored his reviews and prose.

On edit:
Indeed, I just took a peek, starting with season 3, and his season 3 summary indicated his surprise over a lack of comments over an episode he felt was one of the season's stronger ones: "Alter Ego". (A story that shrouds its influences very well for the most part, while adding new items of interest, including a great red herring, as well as offering up a fantastic outing for Tuvok - quite an underrated character to begin with.)

He's also right about Seven, in determining an outfit for herself later on. The Gift episode did seem to hurry along the Borg implant removals, but it was hurrying along getting Kes out of the show too... :( Looks like I've got a weekend's worth of fun reading, am glad he's finally covering the show proper. :)

One thing bothered me a little is how the "mirror" EMH resembled Data- skin tone and eye color. How would they know what a Soong android looked like...unless they pulled up a file on Data??

Then again... retroactively viewed , Soong type Androids started their own little civilization and might be widespread throughout the galaxy with well documented history.

It is one of VOY's best, along with being a Trek top 10. The twist absolutely floored me first time through, And the commentary on revisionist along great MU-esque costumes and acting, makes me want to give it a rewatch rn!

Living Witness is a wonderful commentary on historical revisionism and how history is wielded for contemporaneous political and social conflicts, and the first half of the episode is as close to mirror universe Voyager as we ever got.

Definitely one of the best of Voyager, and the best of Trek as a whole.

I could totally see that being Voyager in the Mirror Universe. The same place that gave us goatee Spock, kinky Kira, and Empress Hoshi Sato...

It was worth watching just for Psychopath Janeway, Android Doctor, and a Voyager with souped-up weapons and Kazon crew.

It was worth watching even if only for Evil Wimp Harry already.
KIM: Look, I can keep this up all day. Tell the Commander what he wants to know. <beats prisoner> Maybe I can't keep this up all day.

Closest we ever got to a MU Voyager(Author Author wasn't quite as hammy evil and fun). I've always had a personal headcanon it was in a MU timeline and the mobile emitter simply passed through different timelines when it was lost.

Easily one of my favorite episodes of the series. Nice way to an MU style episode but at the same time giving some thoughtful commentary on societal relations and revisionist history.

It was worth watching even if only for Evil Wimp Harry already.

That's why Evil Harry is still an ensign
