Leonard Nimoy Stars in Bruno Mars Video - "The Lazy Song"

^ But he appeared on at least two Priceline commercials with the Shat. And, I don't give a fig darn about Heroes. :p

The video tries to get a laugh out of character Nimoy being haunted by Shatner's omnipresence, whereas the real Nimoy couldn't be bothered to do even a brief guest role on his friend's biggest artistic and popular success since Trek. I know I'm being an ass about this, but I just can't enjoy that gag - and really, any other new weird-Nimoy stuff - as a result. (Loved him in XI, but that was a dramatic role, and thus different.)

For God's sakes, let it go.
I'm not telling you what to think; you might extend me the same courtesy. If you love and enjoy the video, fantastic. ;)

It's a funny video. If you don't like it, then fine.

Not even Nimoy could save this song for me.

I kind of feel the opposite. I'd never heard of the artist before I saw the link for this video somewhere and became interested because of Nimoy's involvement. I couldn't help but feel some affection for the song because of the way Nimoy's actions seemed to make it funnier. Basically, I feel like his presence in the music video and the way he's used in it elevates the song immensely.

It's like the Weezer music video for "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To". The song isn't much better than the rest of their post-1990s output, which is mostly junk, but the funniness of the music video makes the song a little more palatable.

I haven't really cared or heard about music videos in years. I remember a time when people would constantly be getting excited about an artist doing a creative new music video, and music videos were being made by people who are now proving to be quite visually dynamic movie directors.

The lack of buzz over music videos in recent years had me believing the form was pretty much dead as an artistic medium, but this proves to me there's still life in it yet. I guess it's a little weird to react with such serious contemplation to a music video that is basically just the same joke being repeated for several minutes, but I really loved it that much. :adore:

That video is all kinds of awesome. Pissing in the sink, shoving the neighbour out of the way, buying filthy magazines at the store, Shatner on every channe, what's not to love?

Sounds like something I would've loved seeing, had I been able to stomach the song.

Most of your modern computers and media players allow you to adjust the sound volume all the way down to zero.

Ah the wonders of technology. Yup, good vid. Someone should put it to a different song.

Although I usually can't stand Bruno Mars, I don't mind this song too much. If anything it's the television version of the video I can't stand (Bruno Mars dancing with guys in monkey masks). I mean seriously, the song is about having the day off and just wanting to fuck off and not give a shit about life, but we got Bruno Mars looking all neat and tidy and his usual pretty boy self. The Nimoy version, with ragged and scruffy looking Nimoy walking around public in his bath robe giving people the finger and eating food directly off the grocery store's shelf fits the song a lot better.

I just saw this for the first time yesterday. It's hilarious. Almost as good as "Bilbo Baggins." Kind of reminds me of the time Christopher Walkin did a video....

And I never heard of Bruno Mars before, but this song is pretty good for contemporary music.

Hahaha. I'm just glad everyone else is reacting the same way. If they had been on my Facebook when I discovered this, they'd have beared witness to the all mother of "WHAT. THE. FUCK!?!?!?!"'s

Seriously, at 3 am finding this did some amazing damage to my brain. XD

That's pretty cool. It's great they did this official alternative version; I definitely prefer it to the regular video.

^^ Oh, that just cracks me up every time. :rommie:

Too bad it's not available in my country. :D
