Legend Of Korra After The Series

Do you think Korra and Asami ever got together after the events of her series?
I always wonder with these shows what might have happened once the final episode ends in universe I mean.

I'd like to think they did

I'm not sure about the videos, but there have been post-finale 2 graphic novel trilogies for Legend of Korra so far, Turf Wars, and Ruins of the Empire. I only read the Turf Wars Part 1, and it was good, I just got sidetracked after that and never went farther.

It's been a while but wasn't it VERY strongly suggested they were romantically linked ( due it being a Nickelodeon show kissing was not in the cards but i seem to remember they held hands at least).

So yes, if that would have continued i hope they'd had that cleared with the Nickelodeon and make them an official couple ( and watch hard conservative parents explode).

I can really recommend watching the live reading videos of Turf War.
It es done on twitch originally with the voice cast doing a great job of bringing the story to live. The video editor then added the graphic novel art.
It answers all your questions and is as official as it gets as a season 5.

All I'll say is that whole Korra/Asami issue is a big part of Turf Wars Part 1.
If you're open to digital and your local library is signed up with Hoopla, you can legally read all 6 post TV series GNs for free on there.

I very much remember my then-girlfriend showing me a video of them kissing before stepping in some portal or something (I never finished the show) which was editted out of the Nickelodeon airings but added for the dvd's and airings on other channels.

*EDIT* NEVER MIND!!! Did some quick googling and apparently that was fan made.

This is the scen in question:

Yeah, that was never going to happen on that channel because it's a kid's entertainment channel and the backlash would have been monstrous ( sadly). We are not there yet to freely talk to children and explain this in a rational manner, because these ignorants still believe sexuality can be influenced by outside forces.

Sorry for going off topic.

I remember the debate back then. Yes, it was the understanding that they were starting a romantic relationship. If I recall they were writing letters to each other throughout that season(or maybe it was just one of them writing letters....can't remember) which could be interpreted as just a deepening friendship.

But the end scene gave an impression of much more. That was the debate online back then. Were they just close friends or a couple? Obviously those types of discussions devolve into socio-political-religious-cultural wars and I don't intend to go there but I think their look towards each other was more than friendship.

It sure was a Rorschach Test!!!

Nah....no need to apologize. That's the thread topic.

But I'll make a somewhat a controversial point that I don't watch those shows to see romantic relationships. I thought Katara and Aang's kiss at the end of that show was sooo painfully misplaced. They were kids. I don't understand this need to romanticize characters. Especially young ones. Maybe it's an American thing?

In the case of Korra all the main characters were early/mid 20's so relationships would be normal but like you said it wouldn't fly in Nickelodeon. However, I expect the Netflix adaptation of Aang's story to go there and more. I just hope they don't 'CW' it.

I think you have to be in a very special kind of denial to get through to the end of season 4 and NOT see that those two are an item. Even though they weren't allowed to make it overt, it's written all over how they interact across the season. There's no accidents in animation; Everything is deliberate.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the producers have said it outright in interviews, and confirmed that the only reason they didn't go all in on the show, was because they weren't allowed to on Nikelodeon.
And I know I coded this before, but I'm just going to say it openly now, the first Turf Wars GN shows them very clearly as a couple during their trip to the Spirit World and after. It's written by Michael Dante DiMartino, and at least for now, is considered canon.
