Just saw this ep for 1st time (going through TNG on uk horror channel specifically eps i never bothered to watch back in the 90s..mainly due to the bbc losing the rights around s4 so from then on only watched the 'important' ones like Unification, Relics, AGT via vhs rental and still havent got around to purchasing the whole series on dvd or blu)

ok its not her but remember thinking even back in the 90s seeing pics of this ep in starlog etc that Beth Toussaint could easily be Linda Hamiltons twin sister.. and funnily enough she plays a Sarah Conner type badass in the ep (Yar's sister) and this was before T2

surprised they didnt cast her as Sarah Conner in the tv Terminator

interestingly according to imdb trivia Linda Hamilton was one of the choices for Captain Janeway..wonder if Paramount wouldve been more keen to do a Voyager movie insteaad of Nemesis had she been Captain?

Definitely, the '90s was peak Hamilton-Toussaint lookalike period.

Not to mention that Sonya Walger was in a couple of SCC eps so it was weird having another character look more like Sarah Connor than Sarah Connor did. ;)

It might be better, and I think it is, that there wasn't a well known actor playing that part. Well, was she that well known at that point? First Terminator movie was out, T2 wasn't, right? 'Reunion' - 1990, T2 - 1991.

Having well known actors in one episode small roles might not be a good idea, the audience would have some expectations what the character might be like or something like that.

Linda Hamilton was considered for Janeway?

Hmm I don't think that would have changed the character very much. They have some similarities, Mulgrew and Hamilton.

Beth Toussaint was nothing like Denise Crosby so I wonder why they cast her? There are lots of other actresses who could have looked like Crosby to be honest but I've always thought why they would have written a story about the family of a character who is no longer in the show?

Check out her IMDB listing photos. She even had Linda Hamilton hair in some shows!

Watching "Legacy" right now. Both my husband & I mentioned how much she looked like Linda Hamilton. She kinda sounds like her too!

This is one of those moments where I wonder if I've slipped into an alternate reality. Linda Hamilton fell in love with Data. I'm sure it was her:lol:

In this reality that part was always played by Michele Scarabelli, I knew her from Alien Nation when the episode aired. Who played Data in your reality?

Not Eric Menyuk? Mind blown ...
I'm sure there is a universe where the cast of TNG is
  • Stephen Macht as Jean-Luc Picard
  • Billy Campbell as William Riker
  • Jenny Agutter as Beverly Crusher
  • Eric Menyuk as Data
  • Tim Russ as Geordi La Forge
  • Rosalind Chao as Tasha Yar
  • Denise Crosby as Deanna Troi
  • Michael Dorn as Worf
  • Jonathan Del Arco as Wesley Crusher

And Jack Lord beat Lloyd Bridges to the role of Captain Kirk back in 1966!!! I wonder why they never repeat those 29 shows anymore?

A huge improvement. Mulgrew was about as convincing as Patrick Stewart was in his fight scenes. Sorry, but those two would get their butts kicked in a fight against pretty much anyone in the universe. And it would be nice not to have to listen to Mulgrew's voice. ugh...like a cat scratching on a chalkboard.
