Klingon Bird-of-Prey

This is my build of the AMT Klingon Bird-of-Prey kit. The model is approximately 1/350 scale so good size. I added the lights.

That is outstanding work, trekriffic! I mean, really, it looks like you've just copied clips from the movies/shows.

How did you paint it, by hand, or with an airbrush?

The ship was primed then sprayed with Tamiya black lacquer, then Tamiya silver, then she was airbrushed with MM Pale Green enamel as the basecoat. Then I brushed various panels with MM Green Zinc Chromate, SAC Bomber Green, and Ghost Grey as per the kit instructions. Then I went back in and brushed a mixture of White, Azure Blue, Intermediate Blue, and Medium Grey on selected panels to match the look of the studio model. She got a few coats of Dullcote then I weathered with Tamiya pastel chalks, primarily rust, silver, gunmetal. oil stain, soot, snow, burnt blue, and burnt red. Edges where I wanted to represent paint wearing away got a touchup using a silver ink marker. You can see all the in progress and finished pics in my album on flickr:

Yep. Bord. I tried to edit the thread title but I guess once you post it's set in stone. So we should all just follow my vegan motto: "Think like a cucumber, act like a salad."

Mate, that looks awesome! I'm actually just coming to the end of working on a 3D model I'm creating of this ship in Sketchup. Your pictures actually provided just the angles I needed, so thanks for the reference pics!

How did you get the wings to move? I thought the model kit only came with a choice of flat or dropped wings (mine certainly).
